It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

A grade c movie, but a good grade c movie! Almost anything on Super channel is grade c and A Dangerous Man is a grade c action film. Like many action movie genre the film lacks, a good storyline, story inconsistencies, and a predictable ending. These mentioned shortcomings are the norm for action movies. However, What makes A Dangerous Man entertaining is the many well put together and entertaining action and dialogue scenes. Most Super channel movies I cannot watch the whole movie, but this one is okay. Seagal, was the only reason I watched this direct to video release. Worth watching! I give A Dangerous Man six out of ten.

Let me just start off by saying I love this movie. It's brutal, ridiculous and funny all at once. Some hilariously nasty insults, great characters to look at, some T&A, great fight scenes by Seagal, lots of gunplay, excellent soundtrack and directing. Seagal is an Indian talking like a black man? Ha ha ha! What a comedian. Any fan of over-the-top action movies should enjoy this. The gun face-beating ( "I'm gonna eff you up ugly") scene is perfect in its bloody violence. Other scenes should've continued this gory mayhem, but did not. Specifically, the giant log saw scene. There should've been decapitation, amputation, and guts flying all over, but instead we get some small unidentified piece of something is tossed. Hence, my only complaint about this movie: Amp it up more, not tone it down. Plot? We don't need no stinkin' plot. This movie should've been called "Everybody Kills Everybody."

Steven Seagal stars as a wrongfully imprisoned akidio expert who defends a girl from Chinese mobsters (led by Byron Mann) and who joins forces with Russian mobsters to defend the girl in question. Steven Seagal movies tend to be really lame these days. In fact I don't think i've enjoyed a Seagal movie in a long time, mainly because the movies are terrible in the worst kind of way, mainly stunt doubles, the same plot about Seagal being some type of secret agent who goes rogue when his employers double-cross him (ad nauseam) Still this movie worked in such a way that I actually bought the film for 5 bucks and didn't feel too bad about such. A Dangerous Man works because it is so fast paced, certainly Seagal seems to care more than usual and it would appear he wasn't dubbed and his fight sequences have less stunt doubles. Indeed Seagal appears trimmer than usual. Still there are still some flaws mainly the story is routine and clichéd but the action element is there, Mann makes for an enjoyable villain and the chick in question is hot. Indeed you can do a lot worse in terms of Seagal movies. Indeed I must admit I only rented this (after swearing Seagal off after Against The Dark) because of his part in Machete. Although if Seagal can manage such level of quality, one won't dread renting the latest Seagal flick.* * out of 4-(Fair)

I suppose it would be pointless for me to tell you not to see A Dangerous Man, because I doubt anyone is gonna want to. That said for every 1000 movie goers in the world, I'm sure there are one or two who are looking into this, and to those people I say, spend your money elsewhere. It not like any of the Seagal movies gave us anything in the way of a character, but in A Dangerous Man, he plays the ultimate nobody; an ex-soldier who has just gotten out of the joint only to find himself mixed up in some Chinese mob mischief operating out of a Pacific coastal town. Worst of all, Steven Seagal has gotten so big that he can't even kick butt convincingly, I doubt if he can even lift his leg halfway to a kicking height. As a result, the fights here are so sissy and lame. I would be more afraid of fighting a squirrel than taking on this Seagal.A Dangerous Man, is just plain boring. I have little hope that Steven Seagal will be able to do any better in the future. Although it would be nice if he could prove me wrong.
