Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
One of my all time favorites.
A lot of fun.
There are better movies of two hours length. I loved the actress'performance.
Probably the worst combination of bad acting and bad sound effect. What else can be expected from this. Story was somewhere nice. But actors were all bad. Sound effect was badly chosen. Story goes like this "In a medical school, the freshmen students Alison Blanchard, Brian Cross, Carlos Aclar and Rick O'Connor receive the cadaver of a young woman for dissection in their anatomy class of Professor Walter Blackwell. The atheist Alison has a weird sensation that the spirit of the corpse is trying to communicate with her and tries to unravel who the woman was. Meanwhile, all the persons that handle the corpse mysteriously die." Wasted my time over this movie. I'll not recommend it. Even if you have nothing see, Don't pass your time on this one. Good luck everyone!
Unrest is the sort of film that upon watching, one who wishes to write an objective review has to sit and think back of good things to say. That for itself is already a disadvantage... Being a Horror freak I've seen many many Horror films. Some were good and memorable on account of originality, touches of art or profound acting, and others were simply bone-chilling and frightening. Unrest is none of these. The story, while presented in a rather original way, is not original at all. We've already seen these kinds of ghost stories, character dynamics and turn of events. And yet, I did find myself watching it till the end and not suffering too badly. The acting is nice, and the story (while unoriginal) is interesting. A nice delicate combination of Ghost Stories/Supernatural/Teen horror. One of the more intriguing facts about this film is that it doesn't actually show the ghost. All of the ghosts' actions are implicated with hints and the script, but the "culprit" isn't visual. Also, what I found to be the best feature of this film, its soundtrack - really worth listening to it!All in all, while having its moments, Unrest is probably not one of the better Horror films nor one to remember. If you come across it, watch it, but don't have too high expectations.
We've seen it a million times. In horror films of this type, it's by the numbers: The main character has a vision, premonition or dream about someone that died, usually right after moving into a dark, creepy house (in this case, after starting an anatomy class in a dark, creepy hospital morgue). Then people start dying until the same main character figures out what the dead person's spirit wants, as if there's nothing better to do in the afterlife besides play practical jokes on the living. This movie has some really chilling parts, like in the beginning where we get treated to an intense close-up for about a minute of a woman obviously possessed. This same woman eventually turns up dead in the anatomy class where our star med student Alison starts feeling something isn't quite right about this cadaver. Corri English does a great job here as Alison and along with her love interest and fellow anatomy classmate, Brian (Scot Davis), they pretty much carry the entire movie. This movie had potential but was ultimately tripped up by the worn out plot and some of the circumstances around the deaths were over the top while others just showed up in scenes dead with no real suspense.
Perfect mix of gore, supernatural situations (all about those creepy Aztec explanations, chantings, and the Brazilian stuff), creepy settings, claustrophobic moments, uncertainty, and interesting dialogs. Not to mention that the movie has plenty of creepy moments, and some very uncomfortable situations (all about the gross scene near the ending where both characters submerge into oh well, you'll see). The hospital setting serves perfect for the movie's purpose and delivers plenty of tension. The plot may be difficult to follow because it deals with different topics and bizarre situations. I dug the explanation towards the American citizen who was in Brazil. The whole prostitution thing, the diabolical references, and the rotten corpse are my kind of entertainment. Now , that's a very strong corpse that can take many action! There is good, very good gore and the movie looks pretty stylish. Give it a chance if you are into the "don't play with dead things" sub-plots and more than revenge.
