This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Holy Crap, This Was A Freaking Great Movie ... First This Is Not A Zombie Movie (More Like A Rabies Movie) ...The Action Is Fast And Powerhouse ... The Ending Shocked The &^%$ Out Of me ... I Can't See How This Doesn't Get An Easy 8 Out Of 10 ... The Only Thing I Can Think Of Saying Is "Holy Crap, This Was A Freaking Great Movie" ..

You can easily spot throughout this flick that this was a low budget film. The effects used were not that good by which I mean, the CGI used. On the other hand the zombies just look like humans with a bit of blood on their face. I didn't liked the CGI used for the rabid dog or the zombie dog. The dog has flies hanging around him and that's pure CGI but the slime coming out of his mouth was badly done. I thought this was going to be a terrible movie but luckily they also used real effects and at the end I did like it.It's always dangerous to add names in the promotion coming from a popular series. Just have a look at The Roommate (2011) having two from Vampire Diaries in it. It just didn't work out but here we have Kayla Ewell from The Vampire Diaries and things did work out this time. Also in it is Sarah Butler (Sharley) and again she does what she does best. I did like both performances. It's a bit of a love story going wrong and zombies being involved. Slowly this flick do turns into a zombie flick. It's the fast running kind as I said with not that much of effects used. But again, towards the end the blood slowly comes in. The ending is another thing people are talking about. Two endings are shown, it's up to you to decide which one you prefer. It's not a flick that will win an Oscar but I'm a bit of a Butler fan and have meet her in the flesh, picture together included, this one is better then The Stranger Within (2013). Gore 1/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 2,5/5 Story 2,5/5 Comedy 0/5

"The Demented" continues the saga of an apocalypse where rage zombies plague mankind. The film is directed by Christopher Roosevelt and stars Kayla Ewell, Richard Kohnke, Ashlee Brian, Brittney Alger, Sarah Butler and Michael Welch. The story is a standard melodrama filled with carnage and mayhem as a group of friends head out for one last get- together before heading off to their own futures. Throw in a terrorist attack, which leads to an outbreak of mutant rage zombies, who spread like wildfire through the effected community, and "The Demented" gives us another thrill ride into a nightmare zombieland. "The Demented" story is a typical one with arrogant yet reflective youths looking to bond fighting unimaginable horrors. I didn't find any real holes in the plot line or characters stories which happens a lot in films. The terrorist attack is a familiar one but it is fresher than the standard schlock for "how zombies are made". It plays closer to the viral outbreak in other more powerful zombie tales like "28 Days Later" and "The Devil's Playground". However this is a new geographical location of the outbreak-bayou country and small town America. The actual outbreak happens over the New Orleans area but the college kids are at a family home far outside the city in a smaller community. It allows for the action and story arch to maintain an affected level of entertainment without seeming redundant or boring. I found the characters likable and believable. I actually connected with them and the story managed to keep my attention through the whole film. The special effects and action sequences in "The Demented" are intense and very commanding as the cast fight (and as some die) to get to the safe location of extraction. The thrills and even chilling moments are evenly spaced and timed well enough to create tension enough for excitement. The zombies are not the tradition creature we expect but more bleeding rage virulent humans with homicidal tendencies similar to "The Crazies"-fast movers that created even more thrilling action packed moments on screen. I enjoyed the added little element of the zombies "suspended state" when the smell or sound of the living wasn't stimulating them. "The Demented" isn't really anything knew for the zombie genre but the film gives a solid story and plenty of intense action. The acting is as good as some big budget flicks and for the most part "The Demented" delivers a good level of entertainment. I enjoyed this one as much as the other zombie films I mentioned in this review.

4 friends get together at another friend's house to have fun. Along with his girl, this makes 3 couples. At some point during the course of their get together, they receive news of a terrorist attack via a telephone call from their friend's father who owns the house they're partying in. They are freaked out, naturally, and wonder if they should leave or stay put. They decide to stay (Hmmm...this can't be good). They later become besieged by zombies of the fast-moving kind who for some reason at one point in the movie can't figure out what to do about a gate that is only a few inches taller than them. Reminds me here of the zombie movie with Dolph Lungren. Steep stairs are a breeze, but apparently this ability is not transferable to going over a gate 2 or 3 inches taller than you. Ah, well, can't have everything.Let's see now... In this movie there's a lot of running, panicking, screaming, yelling as the zombies try to thin out the herd (the weak, the infirmed, the stupid...you know how it is). And what would a zombie movie be without some occasional "laying low". Or to put it in less cool terms: "Waiting until the dead stinking things leave". It becomes kind of like a video game. The group (whats left of them), learn that choppers are picking up survivors at strategic locations. Can they get to a rescue point without being the main course at a zombie banquet? If they can they get to fly away and give everything below them the middle finger. The ending of the movie might be somewhat puzzling. There are 2 possible endings depending on WHEN the woman was dreaming or imagining things. You have to decide for yourself. Oh yeah, before I close, I must tell you that this movie strain of zombies are often in some kind of trance or suspended animation; dormant and "statue-like" until their food unwittingly wakes them by making too much noise. Then they become Olympic material. In a way it's kind of flattering though. You know, that something thinks you're so delicious that they break all kinds of records to get to you. Now that's love.
