Old Dogs
Charlie and Dan have been best friends and business partners for thirty years; their Manhattan public relations firm is on the verge of a huge business deal with a Japanese company. With two weeks to sew up the contract, Dan gets a surprise: a woman he married on a drunken impulse nearly nine years before (annulled the next day) shows up to tell him he's the father of her twins, now seven, and she'll be in jail for 14 days for a political protest. Dan volunteers to keep the tykes, although he's up tight and clueless. With Charlie's help is there any way they can be dad and uncle, meet the kids' expectations, and still land the account?

Really Surprised!
best movie i've ever seen.
Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Old Dogs starred John Travolta and the late Robin Williams and tells the tale of 2 best friends who discover that one of their wives(Williams character Dan)has twins from his ex wife played by Travolta's real wife Kelly Preston. So Dan and his friend (played by Travolta)end up with crazy mayhem throughout and that's pretty much it. The comedy moments were hilarious I remember one scene with Williams character who ends up being tanned after a disastrous run in the salon and he comes out looking like something out of Willy Wonka. Both Travolta and Williams were both very good in this and in real life Travolta struck a friendship with Williams. Overall if you are a fan of Robin Williams and John Travolta than check it out.Bernie Mac also starred in this alongside Matt Dillon and John Travolta's real life daughter Ella Blue Travolta as Robin's daughter.
Old Dogs (2009): Dir: Walt Becker / Cast: Robin Williams, John Travolta, Seth Green, Matt Dillon, Kelly Preston: Old clichés. Old story. Old excuses. This comedy regards experiences, which becomes children. When Robin Williams learns that he fathers two seven year old children he enlists the help of his business partner, played by John Travolta in taking care of them. Directed by Walt Becker who had success with Wild Hogs where viewers could relate to the mentality of youth verses age, but here he is backed with cheap everything. Williams and Travolta are usually bankable and one would think that such a duo would be rewarded with material worth their talent but that doesn't seem to be the case here. They are given rushed backgrounds before being shuffled through tired storytelling where the idiot ending is obvious. Seth Green as another business partner is nearly molested by a gorilla. That is nothing new. He was hauled off by a bear in Without a Paddle so he should be use to it. Matt Dillon appears briefly as an overplayed Scout leader. After his Oscar nominated performance in Crash, he hits a brick wall by reducing himself to this shabby mess. Even Travolta's wife Kelly Preston got suckered into this dog crap film just so both can be disgraced. This flimsy crud is getting old and should be buried deep in the backyard under the dog crap that wasn't scooped up. Score: 2 / 10
Disney has put out some good movies, and some stinkers. This movie fits firmly in the latter category. John Travolta and Robin Williams phone in their performances in this uneven mix of slapstick and schmaltz. John Travolta and Robin Williams play business partners who run a sports marketing firm, but when Robin Williams' character finds out he has children, he and Travolta have to play dad for a couple of weeks while the mother serves a little time in jail. Nothing about the plot was fresh or interesting although, to Disney's credit, they really don't deal with much outside of formula filmmaking anyway. There were a couple of visual gags that were legitimately funny...the first time around. But then they just keep using the same jokes over and over again. Kids might enjoy adults getting hit repeatedly in the groin, but not me. And then to make matters worse, there's some humor insinuating that the main characters are gay, which will go right over children's heads. Ultimately, this film is aimed at families with young children, but the humor is hackneyed at best and I don't see parents enjoying it too much. The message about the importance of family is admirable, but Disney has done much better than this in the past. Ultimately, this won't go down in the annals of Disney history as even a good film, and it certainly is one of the worst films that John Travolta and Robin Williams have ever made. Some old dogs just need to be put to sleep.
This is the best movie I have seen all year! I love this movie! Saw it like a week or 2 ago.Don't know how it got bad ratings. Seriously it is really funny. Also John Travolta, why did he get bad reviews on this? He really fit into the role, and that face (won't spoil it for viewers).I think this shouldn't of got this bad of review as it is very good. Robin Williams is always funny. Love it, drama and comedy. All I could ask for!Thankyou For reading :D.And good luck watching the movie!
