The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

First thing this reviewer has to say is that in my other reviews I have been very clear that Jai White has taken a bum steer from Hollywood, he is a much better action figure than his CV would indicate. Therefore, when I notice that MJW has made the effort to turn the Beatdown franchise into a personal nestegg (this review written late in 2015, but I see there is a BEATDOWN 3 in the works) I cannot complain. Man's got to do what a man has got to do.The film itself is entertaining and that is no small compliment. What it lacks oddly is the sheer meanness that was visible in Beatdown 1. The original in the series was less about MMA than it was about the horror of being a kid having to deal with other kids. The MMA was secondary. Here the MMA takes center stage and if there was a template for this film it was NOT Beatdown 1 (name notwithstanding) but BEST OF THE BEST, which (if you review that film) had a bit of a Disney flavor to it.At the very end of this film, if you stick it out past the final fight (and many of you will not) there is a feel-good montage of the kind you usually see in afterschool specials.Again, the martial arts are not the only thing here that is "mixed." So are the themes.

Never Back Down 2 is very much identical to the first movie, only with a much smaller budget and this time revolving around 4 main characters training under Case (Jai White). Considering that I'm a huge fan of mma, action-movies and Michael Jai White (as an actor), I hate to say that this movie was predictably annoying. I think casting a couple of Abercrombie models in a movie like this was somewhat cliché and a bit of an insult to the mma scene. The acting was noticeably lacking (with the exception of Jai White) and there were a few scenes including Case's troubles and Justin's troubles that seemed to be poorly executed and lacked realism. There were also a couple soft-core sex scenes that seemed out of place. It was interesting, however, to see Todd Duffee act as well as Lyoto. The only credit I could give this movie was it's extremely low budget ($3 million) and the fact that it was shot in only 4 weeks. Other than that, I guess this is all I can come to expect. I knew I would have to watch this while the lady was away because I knew she wouldn't like it. Boy was I right. I bet she'll like Undisputed-II though.

Let me put it in this way:Bad acting - Horrible plot - And a lot of unnecessary sex and f*** words everywhereThe only thing that is worthy about this movie is Michael, he is an excellent fighter, he knows about MMA, his technique and pretty well mastered and well executed. If you are looking to watch good fights you are gonna find them in this movie, what I did was looked for the fight and skip all the three things that I mentioned before. The edition of the movie is well done, also the fight scenes are pretty cool, not fantasies just real stuff. If you know about martial arts you are going to noticed and enjoy the development of this matches.

I honestly don't know why this movie only got 5.6 out of 10. This is the first movie I ever did a review on so you can believe its good. Michael Jai White does his thing in the movie. My favorite scene is when he fights like 6 cops handcuffed. All the UFC and MMA fighters did good acting wise except for one. I can't remember his name but he look like a white king-kong. His acting was horrible but everything else in the movie as far as story line, plot and all else was good. if you like this movie, like it at facebook.com/neverbackdown2 ! Michael Jai White always delivers. I am a big fan of his and love all his movies. I really thought this would be a fail looking at the trailer which SUCKED but the movie was awesome!
