To me, this movie is perfection.
Surprisingly incoherent and boring
A brilliant film that helped define a genre
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Maddy (Kristen Stewart) loves to climb. Her best friends are tech nerd Austin (Corbin Bleu) and go-cart mechanic Gus (Max Thieriot). Her father Tom Phillips (Sam Robards) suffers a paralysis from an old climbing injury that requires $250k for treatment. Her mother Molly (Jennifer Beals) works at the bank but the bank president Donald Brisbane refuses to lend her the money. Maddy decides to rob the bank with the help of her young friends despite the fact that her mother is the security chief. The kids are all photogenic and they are good young actors. However there is nothing actually funny. It's too stupid to be real and too real to be fun. There isn't any joy in this kids movie. They even try a love triangle for them. It just doesn't work.
In fact, I like the original version "Klatretøsen (2002)" better. I first saw the story played on the screen which was "Klatretøsen (2002)" on TV couple years ago. And I saw the USA version last year on TV. To tell the truth, I don't think the USA version is better than the original "Klatretøsen." Some ideas of the movie or mode of stealing method were changed, maybe more technological and electronic on the equipments....the kids' gears and outfits were more fancy....IDK....but there are just something that can't reason me down. I recommend whoever are or aren't Kristen Stewart fans (actually I delight in Kristen Stewart's performance) to see the original version "Klatretøsen (2002)" if u can.
i liked this movie quite a bit.true,it's not at all realistic, but if you can suspend your disbelief, you might like it.it a fun movie with a good deal of action and humour.the characters are all pretty likable, and the acting is good for this type of movie.if you're expecting something deep, you won't find it here, though there is a serious issue, which is the setup for most of the movie.the movie is fast paced and never boring.basically it's a pretty entertaining 90 minutes.there is some rude humour involved and some intense themes, but still i think it's suitable for most audiences, but parents should still use their discretion.for me,Catch That Kid is a 7.5/10
WOW, and I thought Spy Kids was bad, but ah, I was mistaken. This movie can be defined in one word: CRAP! In my option, it should be burned along with any dumb fans and that gay cast. "You can be our best man" how about I shoot both of you 'cause you only 12. It isn't legal to get married in any state 'til you 16. Futhur more, a bunch of 12 year-old would not RECEIVE money for robbing a bank! Hello, jail. And also this movie is telling young eight year-old to rob a bank 'cause it's okay. My god these people are stupid. And cop cars can go up to 270 mph (trust me I've been in one) and go-karts can go a resounding 15 mph. So those cops could have easily run over the kids!
