Too much of everything
Admirable film.
Absolutely the worst movie.
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
Should be watched by everyone in the US and to people who want to know more about how animals are treated, as the things that happen in this film happen all over the world.
Is it the most violent, horrific, disturbing documentary I've ever seen.. yes. Does it use disturbing footage to cause the viewer to reevaluate their life.... yes. Would I have not been as moved if they did not use these tactics to cause such an impact.... yes.If you do not make it through to the end. Past part 4 - the science section, and part 5 - entertainment (you have not seen this movie). How anyone could defend the food industry or the science industry after watching this film is beyond me. How dare you!Summary: The science and food industry in essentially massacring and torturing innocent, helpless animals, in a prolonged fashion. The film is very hard to watch, and eye opening because of the footage that you witness. Anyone that get's angry at the film makers is just angry because they do not wan't to quit eating meat. They are angry at the film makers for pointing out the fact that they do not have a soul, and are morally, and mentally retarded. They sum up our relationships with animals in 5 parts: Pets, Food, Clothes, Science, and Entertainment. Each more disturbing and harder to watch than the last part. Be ready for it... especially the science part. The fact that we are breeding animals for the sole purpose of torturing them for the duration of their existence in the name of science; is absolutely absurd. We do not come to any real conclusions at the end of the research. Continue to put a hand full of humans through the research, and it barely ever works out (because we are very different is our genetic make up....duh..). This does not justify starving, isolating, inducing head trauma, burning, poisoning, and radiating, for years at a time. We are above all of this.. none of it makes sense, and anyone who disagrees with any of that, I truly feel sorry for you. Conclusion: Please Watch This Documentary - And Do Something About It.
Basically this movie turned me into a vegan overnight. I could never bare to finance others into the level of cruelty inflicted to innocent beings for the sole reason of tasty food (which is not tasty to me anymore after eating vegan for 4 years). This movie is a real life horror story. The worst I've seen but also the best, because ignorance hurts, it hurts a lot and it feels great to redeem ourselves. Ignorance causes pain and cruelty in our planet and it's time for us to realize it, to educate ourselves and choose. We place our vote into the world with every coin we spend. This movie is truly hard to watch, you'll cry a lot if you happen to be sensitive or not at all. It's eye opening not only as a human person but as an Earthling.Interestingly it doesn't leave you with a bad taste of mouth but on the contrary, full of hope and action. This movie calls for action.I thank the brave cameramen and camerawomen who shot this documentary, as well as everyone involved in its making.A must watch.
The problems with Earthlings is mostly from the effect has on people. Due to the nature of the film, people come away from it with an OMG reaction which is what the documentary was going for, but relies on emotion more then facts. Throughout the film, they say that these are the norm, however many times they will show other countries, now if people live here and support the AR movement then cool, however I can't help what another country does to it's animals, we have enough trouble trying to do it for humans. Now that isn't to say you shouldn't care, I simply believe that they presented the worst situations, said they were the norm (perhaps because they went only to bad farms?), and the solution given wasn't to improve conditions it was to not eat meat at all. Now, the computer industry isn't exactly good for the environment (even through recycling), but are you going to give up your computers or would you rather improve the industry? Just saying. If you want to get someone interested into caring for animals who doesn't, this is a good doc., but it should be used more for informing on the worst not a reason to change your diet.If you think that killing animals is equal to murdering humans you will likely disagree with me, however it isn't about you reaffirming what you already believe in, its about trying to get people to care. People will disagree with you, and this film (as they should) but it shows that we do need to improve how we treat animals."We eat animals, they deserve respect from us." -Temple Grandin
