Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
hyped garbage
Best movie of this year hands down!
Absolutely Fantastic
I saw this classic when I was a kid and I loved it until this day. When I heard Chuck Jones did it, I was surprised because of the animation and style looked similar to his Bugs Bunny, Coyote and Roadrunner and Tom and Jerry cartoons. However, I got more surprised when I heard that Boris Karloff not only voiced The Grinch, but narrated it very well. My love grew stronger because back then, when I was a teenager, I was starting to fall into the field of classic horror films. I knew Boris Karloff played the Frankenstein Monster and Imhotep The Mummy. He had this calm British voice. As for the songs, well they are as timeless as the special itself! Albert Hague made the music to it and I was surprised that he was the music teacher in the original FAME. My favorite song is "You're a mean one Mr. Grinch" because when you hear it you can't stop and think of all those disgusting things that come to our mind when we hear the song. Forget about Ron Howard's adaptation with Jim Carrey because that one is complete and utter garbage catered for those who watch wacky cartoons on such cable channels as Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. Bottom line: This animated special is timeless and it must be watched for new generations of audiences.
"Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store, maybe Christmas means just a little bit more..." that line sums up the film.Funny how some people do not actually pay attention to this films ending - they only remember him stealing all the Christmas away from everyone but they fail to remember the lesson of the tale which is the ending of the film: the Grinch's heart grew 3 times that day and he brought back all the Christmas items to the Whos. Don't forget who carved the roast beast! The Grinch learned the real meaning of Christmas.A wonderful Christmas story for the whole family. A timeless classic.10/10
This may be a TV short. But it's more true and more close to the Dr. Seuss classic book about meaning and lessons for young minds as children. The story is about a green, mean creature steals Christmas by dressing as Santa Clause on Christmas Eve, and stealing everyone's Christmas presents. How the Grinch Stole Christmas the 1966 version is a true animated classic with a good message at the end that will truly tech kids to respect what their got and be grateful of what their got. The narration in this is almost close to perfect, because the writer's really put in so much into this trying to be like the classic book. Overall this version is more better than the other bad versions like: The Cat in the Hat (2003) / How the Grinch stole Christmas (2000).
Who in their wildest imagination would ever think that a mean, green man/thing could be a great center character for a Christmas story? Why Dr. Seuss of course! Written in 1957, Seuss' beloved book captured the imaginations of children everywhere and it was only natural that someone would want to adapt it to the screen. Luckily, with Chuck Jones and Ben Washam in the director's chair, not only does 1966's adaptation of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" turn out good, it's just as good as Dr. Seuss' beloved book. Taking place in the wonderfully imagined village of Whoville, it's a story of one community's love of Christmas drives an outcast to commit the crime of the century. That outcast is of course the Grinch himself and through beautifully colored animation as well as the voice and narration of the legendary Boris Karloff (Despite never seeing him, this is one of his best performances), he is brought to life in splendid form. Watch as the Grinch strips poles of their lights, robs the presents from under the tree, steals the roast beast, and lies to a little Who girl named Cindy Lou Who while stealing her tree while being dressed as Santa Claus (How could you fall for that Cindy??!!). But of course when Christmas morning comes, the Grinch learns an important lesson that changes him forever and in the process, melts our hearts. It's truly a wonderful tale that features the wise words of Seuss, beautifully drawn animation were the colors jump out at you, and the meaning of Christmas itself. So gather around boys and girls, both young and old, and watch this delightful classic that never bores. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!!
