To me, this movie is perfection.
the audience applauded
A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Tom Hanks plays a man set to be married. The bride, loves him for the man he is despite What her rich family thinks. His friends throw the most outrageous bachelor party full of funny quirks and hijinks, not to mention strippers, drugs, barnyard animals, Asian businessmen and well you get the point. Hanks is at his best and you be laughing the whole time.
I give 3 stars just because it is Tom Hanks and he did have his charming personality and funny way of expressing himself. But that is all.The movie itself, the director and the whole thing I give 0 to 1. The story could have been interesting without all these overboard episodes. the whole movie is a flop, stupid and really not funny although they want to make you think so.Of course, I know that this was one of Tom Hanks first movies, and this is why I gave 3 stars to him. It's heavy with inappropriate and vulgar sequences. I am glad that Tom Hanks didn't continue on this trend.
What a bawdy wonderful reminder of my college days in San Diego. This film is funny, funny! Reminds me of the Lampoon style humor, which is my favorite. Who would have guessed at the time that Hanks would become so famous? I think I'll buy this DVD which I never do but this one should be kept around to loan to friends who've never seen it. It makes me wonder what kind of bachelor life the writers had. Makes me envy them. We use to head for Tijuana for bachelor parties in those days. My favorite character in the film was the girl with the donkey. How come she isn't in the cast list? How come the donkey isn't in the cast list (himself)? Is this racism?
Tom Hanks nowadays is known as a very dramatic and going for the academy award each year type of actor. But back in the 80's Hanks was an extremely funny actor. It might be hard to imagine after movies like Forrest Gump and The Terminal, but he used to be an extremely hilarious guy. One way to prove it is this movie Bachelor Party. This is honestly one of the funniest movie of the 1980's. This really was a movie that ushered in the whole party movie genre which continued throughout movies like Dazed and Confused and recent films like Superbad. So please check out Bachelor Party, because it was truly a launching pad for many of todays party comedies.
