In John Whitesell's 2006 Masterpiece „Big Mommas House 2" things are never quite as simple as one might thing. The movie shines light on some of the more difficult questions such as race, gender and love in general. Martin Lawrence's stellar performance as FBI Agent Malcolm a.k.a. Big Momma finds him stuck in a hard place between two completely different human beings. As he slowly moves deeper into character, his beloved wife Sherri (Nia Long) suspects her Husband is cheating on her. As you might suspect: It's quite a downward Spiral from here on. And it's quite surprising that we, the Audience, still get something you could consider a "Happy Ending" given the extremely difficult circumstances. The Movie itself is wonderfully casted: Emily Procter as "happy-go-lucky-wife" Leah, who only wants the best for her children but is trying way too hard. Kat Dennings as a rebellious teenage girl who, with "Big Momma's" help, learns that things in life are not always as they seem. And last but not least: A scene stealing performance by Chloë Grace Moretz as Leah, whose sufferings we probably can all relate too.Sure: There are moments of comedy but they never outweigh the moments of pure dramatic bliss this movie spits out when you would never even consider it. The chase between the Computer-Hacker Bishop and Big Momma, for example, reminded me of David Cronenberg's "Eastern promises" shower scene. This might sound a bit off at first but if you think about it: the dramatic increase is almost the same as is the climax which is the ending of the chase where Bishop jumps into his death. As with many great movies "Big Mommas House 2" probably needs multiple viewings to understand its full spectrum. There are a lot of things you will not see the first time around. And although the movie is probably not what one would describe as light fare, be aware that it will be worth every minute of your time. 10 stars !

So I seen this movie a few times before, the first time was at a cousins house and I didn't know what to expect. In fact this is the first movie that made me introduce myself to the hot guy Zachary Levi(whom I didn't know too well as I seen him in Tangled a few years later and it dawned on me who he was then, but Tangled was the film that introduced me to him properly but this was the first film I saw him in). Anyway the story is mainly the same Malcolm played by Martin Lawrence has to go undercover again as the big fat nanny that made him meet his now wife played by Nia Long with whom he has a child with to uncover some bad guys that are after a guy who's wife has kids(played by Emily Protector from CSI Miami). Helping Malcolm out is Kevin(Zachary Levi)who happens to work for the FBI also and helps Malcolm get the bad guys that are after Protector's charcther's husband.Yeah yeah the plot is a rip off of Mrs Doubtfire sorta-ish but hey its not a bad film and its not as bad as White Chicks GOD NO. Overall I found it not too bad,but it is a tad bit stupid I find as I find all cross-dressing movies stupid.

2000's Big Momma's House was a surprise hit in the summer where I couldn't stop laughing once I bought the film on DVD. But one thing I hate about most comedy films is when they try to bring on the sequels; many of which take a long time to develop where after a while most of the fans who cheered for these characters start to lose their touch and move on to better movies. The premise of Big Momma's House 2 involves Martin Lawrence reprising his role as Malcolm. He has already got the girl (Nia Long) from the first movie where her son Trent is accepting him as it is while at the same time embarrassed that Malcolm is dressed up in silly mascots in high school to promote safety. But now the undercover agent if fired from his job where he overhears a conversation involving a computer geek on the verge of being killed unless he does something about it. Malcolm dons the Big Momma suit and goes in as a nanny. To be honest with you, the film was very hard for me to keep up. Not once did I laugh unlike the first movie where it just tried to hard to be like the original.

The film talks about the FBI agent Malcolm Turner(Martin Lawrence)again posing himself, who's known as a southern sweet ¨big momma¨, she is a severely overweight but bright old woman. This time he goes undercover, attempting resolve a case, as a foul-mouthed nanny of a family constituted by an unhappy mother (Emily Procter),three sons and whose father(Mark Moses) is a hacker under investigation and passing information to the enemy. Also all complicates with the relationship between the potbellied grandma babysitter and the familiar group.Meanwhile he has problems with his beautiful pregnant wife(Nia Long). This sequel expands from original idea but Lawrence and the writers manage to pull it off rather impressively. The jokes are plentiful and is pretty entertaining, the plot doesn't allow for many quiet moments which Lawrence needs to balance out the slapdash. In the former film sporadic laughters are too often mined by scatological and toilet humor but in this movie the gags are more agreeable. It's a farce with the great master of disguise Lawrence when he takes a make up by Greg Cannon is transformed into fat grandma. The story is funny and interesting and the characters are genuine and sympathetic.Film is a Martin Lawrence recital,he makes acrobatics, stooges, tongue twister and pull faces and grimaces.Picture is a vehicle Lawrence ,he's a real show man and authentic farceur.Lawrence like his partner Eddie Murphy has plenty of experience with women costumes and various roles.Film gets a nice cinematography by Mark Irwin and atmospheric score by George S Clinton. The motion picture is rightly directed by John Whitesell. If you like Lawrence's crazy acting ,you'll enjoy this one.
