The two had a high-flying affair that spanned the globe and was enabled by the girl's fame-obsessed mother, Florence. It all came crashing to an end in October 1959, when events forced the relationship into the open, sparking an avalanche of publicity castigating Beverly and her mother - which only fed Florence's need to stay in the spotlight.

Like the play from which it derived, the film tells of the early struggles of composer Edvard Grieg and his attempts to develop an authentic Norwegian national music. It stars Toralv Maurstad as Grieg and features an international cast including Florence Henderson, Christina Schollin, Robert Morley, Harry Secombe, Oskar Homolka, Edward G. Robinson and Frank Porretta (as Rikard Nordraak). Filmed in Super Panavision 70 by Davis Boulton and presented in single-camera Cinerama in some countries, it was an attempt to capitalise on the success of The Sound of Music.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

Box office take would indicate that folks want more comic book adventures, prefer to be amused instead of inspired, and sometimes because of this, worthy films get sidelined because they are not sensational. At a time in the culture when so many people in our culture want to blame everybody else for their inability to rise above their circumstances, to change their bad habits or escape their addictions. I'm a sucker for films that show the opposite, that demonstrate that with applied intelligence and determination, a man or woman can better themselves and those around them; that's one reason I enjoyed Antwone Fisher; there are numerous others.Perhaps the story is familiar, but in this case the lead actor, Derek Luke, is so compelling and attractive as a human being, the supporting cast is so convincing and persuasive, and Denzel Washington's directing so compact and professional, that the flaws disappeared for me and my personal involvement was complete. This is a film about overcoming the past with it's heart in the right place and is a pleasure to watch.

Antwone Fisher is a movie about self discovery, but also about the emotional inertia that moves us to the places we end up to be.Antwone Fisher has his options already narrowed because of the place where he was born and the parents he had. His life is a reflection of a sad statistic, and he can hardly blame others to what happened to him because, as his psychologist mentioned, is the result of passing the same treatment generation after generation.Antwone Fisher made me think about how important is to know the forces that, often without your explicit knowledge, push you where you are, and if you don't like the places where these forces carry you, to know that there is a way out. This is not a hero movie, nor a movie of beggar turned millionaire. Is a movie about the path of self-discovery and self-healing.Key phrase: "Sorry Mr. Director, but the chick is way too pretty for that kid"

This movie describes the life of somebody who grew up in the worst of circumstances but unlike many people he actually grew up to be a respectable person. Whats more is that this is a true story.Antwone Fisher is so innocent and yet he was abused such just because he was not white. Antwone Fisher has been married to the same women for ten years and he never fooled around with women, coke, cigars, weed, alcohol, or any of those things that are very popular in the places he was growing up. There is not much more to say about this movie it is excellent. The only rating I can give it is a 10/10.

Whatever you become in your life, you must never forget that you have roots. This is the story of true facts that was made into a beautiful and moving movie! I dare to say that this movie is well underrated. This shows us a reality of life...the more evil surrounds you ,the better person you become.Trust in your instincts and be aware that the ideal of life is to live it happy...without grudges, without living "under a rock" . The movie concept is more that interesting...connecting the storytelling with real life events...keeping us aware of everything..from facts to emotions! Bless these people and make everyone happy ! See it,i recommend it to all young people.it's not about racism it's about how to live your life !
