Body of Lies
The CIA’s hunt is on for the mastermind of a wave of terrorist attacks. Roger Ferris is the agency’s man on the ground, moving from place to place, scrambling to stay ahead of ever-shifting events. An eye in the sky – a satellite link – watches Ferris. At the other end of that real-time link is the CIA’s Ed Hoffman, strategizing events from thousands of miles away. And as Ferris nears the target, he discovers trust can be just as dangerous as it is necessary for survival.

Load of rubbish!!
I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Body Of Lies2 Out Of 5Body Of Lies is a plot driven feature whose thirst for delivering an exhilarating and complex mission is unable to express it to the viewers. There isn't a single lose thread of the plot that audience may feel the urge to hold on to, the makers not only fails to seek the viewers' attention but doesn't even convince them for a second look. It is short on technical aspects like choreography of the action or chase sequences, cinematography, sound department, art design, background score and editing. The writing is weak, raw and seems unsupervised especially since there was a lot of inessential and chalky material projected on screen. The adaption by William Monaghan isn't smart as it seems which creates the portal of loop which not only is stultifying but questionable at certain points. Ridley Scott; the director, inputs a lot of his tactics to save the ship from sinking but unfortunately everything is overstuffed and undercooked. The actors holds on to their roles and delivers a decent performance if not something out of the park especially by Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe and Oscar Isaac in his limited time that he has. Body Of Lies is a pretentious insight on the "cons and cons" of politics gone wrong and if considered a bigger picture, a feature gone wrong.
Body of lies the title itself tells you the movie is more about lies and it will be dealing around with the lies. How the lies will affect the person and his surrounding. The people in the higher position should tell lots of lies to convince everyone. This movie has remarkable performances from the lead actors. Leonarda as usual he has delivered a great performance. The movie has a lot of facts and they have researched more about the terrorist groups and fabricated properly. Ridley Scott has done a great job in coming with this script and delivering. The screenplay is a bit slow and in the end you will forget about the negatives. If you like dark genre or terrorist related movies this is a must watch movie for those audiences.
Apart from the good laugh I had from hearing Leonardo Dicaprio speaking Arabic as well as all the goofs in the movie, it really annoyed me how Hollywood had gone too far with the stereotypical image of the contemporary Arab world that is portrayed in current western media!I'm a Pakistani Muslim and according to Ridley Scott and his smart colleagues I might be considered as the worst kind of enemy! Haha! I really couldn't resist the urge to write about this people like "Al-Saleem" (the Arabic Muslim "terrorist" in the movie) as well as al Qaeda, Bin Laden, Hamas etc. are invented by the US government and Israel (with the help of the Arab leaders of course!) to serve Zionism and fool the Muslim youth. Such networks and groups act in the name of Islam (but they have nothing to do with it) and start looking for the poor, ignorant and naïve young men, they seduce them with lies and convince them that what they're doing is Jihad, and that's what they should do as Muslims. And that was evident in the movie.Poverty and ignorance is the enemy's weapon. Jihad has nothing to do with terrorism! This is what you should all know! Now as for the goofs:– Jordanian Intelligence building is similar to a spa resort!– in the last minutes of the movie Leonardo Dicaprio (the CIA agent) starts giving lessons about Islamic morals to the terrorists! Damn that was really funny!– What the hell was Aisha wearing on hair head when agent Ferris (Leonardo Dicaprio) came over her sister's house for dinner? Is that a mini Hijab or something?– The amount of men in the Jordanian streets wearing the traditional shmagh (a.k.a hatta) was funny too! I wish they still wear it in that amount! It's almost extinct! I only see it nowadays on sissy guys who wear colorful shmagh because it's à la mode!– oh! And when the hell did couscous became a traditional Jordanian dish?!?! The whole world knows that it's Moroccan! It seems that the economic crisis affected the research department in Hollywood!According To CIA World Factbook Major Religion percentages: Christians: 33.32%, Muslims: 21.01%, Hindus: 13.26%, Buddhists: 5.84% etc. There are around 4,992,663,560 Muslims all around the world, of which there are 266,476,278 in the states itself. They're your doctors, your professors, your friends, your colleagues engineers, lawyers, pharmacists, teachers, artists, athletes they're normal people you meet everywhere! When will this east-west stupid conflict end? Khalas it's getting boring! And most importantly, all these terrorist attacks that has been going on all around the world since September 11th affected us.
LEONARDO DICAPRIO was brilliant in this movie and he was ably supported by Russell Crowe.Mark Strong was strong(no pun intended) in the few scenes he was featured. The Thing that I like most about this film is its realism. The story was something i felt i have already seen before but quite interesting to follow. CIA tries to take down a terrorist leader.. action / drama and thriller moments mixed to a enjoyable movie. There are quite many things to keep track so pay extra attention to the story. Overall a well done movie. With fantastic editing and a well-structured story, Body of Lies is a dark, gritty, and complex spy thriller.Leonardo DiCaprio plays a CIA agent undercover in the Middle East, gathering intelligence on an Al-Qaida terrorist network, negotiating and double crossing with both the Jordanian security service and his CIA superior (a very snaky Russell Crowe). There's quite a lot to take in during the early stages of this movie and there's some well staged action scenes.
