Fantastic!
Captivating movie !
Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Katie (Jo Hartley) and Jeff (James Doherty) are two social workers who take four troubled teens to a remote cottage in a remote village for...I am not sure what, but they are there. The townsfolk all seem to have the same bad teeth and large ears. After a run in, our heroes become the main attraction in a theater one might see in "Blood Sucking Freaks" complete with a bare bottomed organ player right out of Monty Python. The theater aspect, which was by far the highlight of the film, needed a third act. There was significant internal conflict within the teen group which served more as a distraction. Instead they should have used this as an opportunity to develop dark humor. The film is also sold as a comedy, but the humor was more in their outfits. The production certainly has the potential to achieve cult status as it has all the qualifications, but for me it fell short. Personally I prefer "House of a 1,000 Corpses" or "10,000 Maniacs" or "Blood Sucking Freaks" for this type of cult genre.Recommend as a strong cult rental. Parental Guide: Frequent F-bombs, attempted rape, sex play, male rear nudity.
Four troubled teens and two caseworkers head to a remote area in the English countryside for a weekend of team building and scrap metal salvaging. An unfortunate incident with the locals leads to an accident, which leads to a misunderstanding, which leads to murder and worse.I love my inbred killer movies and I love my small town with a secret movies but I did not love Inbred. Nothing much happens until 40 minutes in and then the movie decides to be utterly bizarre for a while and give us a vaudeville performance with kills rather than going straight for the jugular. I couldn't help be reminded of the family show in House of 1000 Corpses and how that sequence dragged down the pacing just like the show here (although there's a very excellent bizarre kill in the first "act").We finally get through this part of the film and things move on quickly for a bit of survival horror with some decent gore and dark humor but by then it was a case of too little too late for me. I liked the main group of good guys and there was some effective gore but I spent too much time being bored and not enough being entertained.
Simple premise: thing Deliverance in the north of England. Two probation workers take their four young teenage tearaways on some sort of 'bonding' exercise to a remote village in the north of England. Guess what? The locals don't take kindly to strangers! Yes, it's another one of those slasher/torture p**n films. Now you know that you can decide if it's for you. If you don't think it is, don't bother with it as you'll hate it. However, if you like blood and entrails being hurled around, you may like to know that the gore is pretty well done (especially on its low budget), plus the inbred yokels are pretty damn evil (in a good way that will have you almost rooting for them over the pretty unlikeable criminal teenagers who spend much of their time screaming and running in the wrong direction). It's also pretty tongue-in-cheek. It's not really meant to be taken that seriously, so hopefully you'll forgive the 'heroes' when they run straight back into dangerous situations instead of simply getting the hell out of there. If you like daft, low-budget horror, then there are worse ways you can spend an hour and a half of your film-viewing life.I'm just glad I live in the south of England and no one who lives near me feels the need to wear a pig mask and clap rocks together in a show of appreciation.
I knew that this would not be a good film when 2 minutes passed and we already had some cliché, as the GPS stopped working, though cellphones did not. At first characters were a little washed, but I was hoping for them to develop later. That did not occur, with some very minor exceptions, the characters, especially the young ones, were all the same, except for the differences in sex and colour. The woman, who plays the role of the female social worker, did indeed have time to develop a little bit her character, and could get a point more. The rest as the story, is nonsense, an a slayer and torture film, a la Saw, so, if you are into this type of films, you can go and rent it, you will not be disappointed. Otherwise, skip it.
