Best movie ever!
A Masterpiece!
I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
I've got to say that My Favorite Martian has be one out of many of my favorite Disney movies. Paring up Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) and Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber) is got to be the greatest idea ever made in the history of comedy movies. Tim O' Hara is a struggling news reporter who is just trying to find a good story to do. His boss is ungrateful, and his boss's daughter whom he likes turns out to be a prissy brat. One night while driving home space ship crashes on the beach, and it turns out it has a lovable, comedic character with it.Putting two comedy actors in one movie was a great move, both of these comedy stars bring so much laughs and fun, there were moments I couldn't stop laughing, like the part when Martin the martian first shows up and impersonates Tim with Lizzy. I love the quotes in this movie, they are not only very funny but classic. You will enjoy this film, my wife and I did and be prepared to laugh a lot and I mean a lot it's that kind of movie where two comedy stars work their magic together.10/10 for My Favorite Martian
I might be crazy but I did actually enjoy this film is it a perfect film? No but did I like it? YesI never seen the original show so I didn't have any high hopes or anything of that nature going into this film. I just remember seeing it on PPV for the first time with the family back in 1999 so It was a film I would just sit back relax and enjoy.Jeff Daniels, Christopher Lloyd,Daryl Hannah, Elizabeth Hurley Wallace Shawn star in this Family/comedy from Disney. Also features Wayne Knight in a Uncredited voice role as the voice of Zoot I actually enjoy the film for having some creative humor and the plot did hold my interest. I do think they could have done the film without a few of the "JOKES" they made in the film but the rest do workIf you don't take this movie seriously you might actually find it funny because I did and yes it's not a perfect movie but I have seen worse I give My Favorite Martian an 7 out of 10
"My Favorite Martian" was clearly before my time I never watched the series, yet I finally decided to check out the movie and it was a nice little picture that didn't take itself to serious! Even if the story was lame it was a fun adventure set in modern day California with a goof and lonely TV reporter Tim(Jeff Daniels)who stumbles upon a martian(Chris Lloyd)and this journey turns into a twist of one becoming a human form of Uncle Martin. Yet thru the film it's a wild goose chase of crazy times and travels even the government is hot on their heels. This film is a treat too for having wild special effects of cars shrinking and spaceships and floating objects! Also an eye candy treat is the beautiful Elizabeth Hurley as a sexy news anchor plus it was fun seeing her in a scene where she's tied up and gagged by the martian! Overall cute little funny non serious film with an eye candy treat of Elizabeth Hurley so zoom in and watch it!
So taking advice from these "know it all's" from IMDb, might not always be a smart decision, as I remember reading all these negative reviews here about this movie, yet yesterday i felt compelled to pick it up.If you're a fan of feel good family movies, I Highly recommend this title, as long as you're not looking for the Original TV Series plot. This movie was never aimed for the older generation who watched the original TV Series, hence "Disney's Children's MOVIE".With some great laughs from all characters, especially "zoot", this will bring back a dose of nostalgia to those 20 year olds out there, back to there days of transitioning from a child to a teen.Don't listen to these so called "movie critics" because they know just as much about movies as you do. Great Movie for the Kids, or for a Family Flick night.
