Waste of time

Good story, Not enough for a whole film
It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.
I rented this for 3 dollars on Google Play. Why? Im a big horror fan but this is just idiotic. I would agree with those reviews here that says the script makes no sense. Fx why would the guy with the glasses be some kind of psycho? What is the connection of the two psychos from the first segment to the laughing man? The plot is a boy tortured a rat when a child and he wants revenge on three of his female classmates for making fun of him. So who are those two psychos from the first segment and what are their connection to the laughing man? Besides that everything is just jumping out of air to connect and suddenly she goes from a building to a truck and stabs the laughing man and then gets out of her trap. I agree with those that say the clown is pretty cool. This segment was a bit like A Stranger Calls. Pretty good actually. Anyway I am all for suspension of disbelief but this movie just does not make much sense.
I saw this movies cover, and I wanted to see this movie really bad. The clown on the cover, and the little summary on the back of the cover, and the fact it was $2.99 at a closing store, I expected way, way, WAY more out of it. Very cheesy and very unrealistic. So very predictable and not scary. The casting people could have done a lot better, the writers could have written the script a lot better, and the concept could have been better. Yeah, it was creepy. But, sadly, the clown was the best part. I would love to meet that clown and creep these actresses out. The women's stories really did not flow together. SPOILER ALERT -- The insane man in Shelby's story wasn't the insane man in Lisa or Tabitha's story, Shelby's killer had a big mustache and had hair on his head, where the other guy was totally different. Do not see this movie.
As Horror films go, especially in the last decade, this film is surprisingly good. Its not great but a solid horror film that will make your girl hold you close while on the couch. I actually like the way Mr Simpson told the story. Building the suspense only to not show what happens because the end is where everything is tied together. I thought the performances were good, although the bad guy could have been better cast. I would like to have seen more blood through out and he missed something that just about all good horror films have, boobs. Some good places to insert them but didn't. In the end though, I was pleasantly surprised with the story. A little something different. I would like to have seen the way it all came about when they were kids played out a bit more but that is me. Overall the film is well made and shot very well. The cinematography and set design are top notch as low budget horror films go. At 6 mil though, i think they could have stretched for a better bad guy and blood. Still, I enjoyed it.
I was wondering around in Civic Video just to find something interesting for the night to watch: I came across this film 'Amusement' so I hired it out for the night: watched it when I got home immediately. I have to say: what a huge mistake that was. It had its up's and down's during the film (E.G: The clown in the bedroom: that was well done) and the down sides were more of a 'amusement' as I can say. It needed to be plotted out a whole lot better, it's one of those films were you confused throughout it then it makes sense during the end. A huge negative during the ending was that the girl was locked in the back of the van (couldn't get out) and she ends up driving the broken down car at the final scenes: it doesn't make sense at all. I wish it stuck to one main idea throughout the film (I would say the clown one) since it was more appealing. Shelby, not rarely Lisa as well never got any screen time throughout the film, I didn't even remember she was in it to be honest. A forgettable film, wasn't planned out enough, went too fast and it was incredibly unrealistic, 3/10.
