It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
one of Wes Anderson's earlier films named Rushmore presents the life and struggles of a 15 year old prodigy Max. This is where I found the first downside of the film - Jason Schwarzman's Max disappointed me. I did not feel any empathy towards this character. Thus I found no connection with him. In my opinion he was too unpredictable and at times even irritating. Bill Murray was great in this movie. Loved every second of his screen time. He pulled of a fine performance and impersonated a hilarious and complicated character. A had an issue with the visuals. I am a huge admirer of W. Anderson work and style I can assume that back in 1998 this style was not fully developed yet contains similarity to his other films. The range of colors used in Rushmore is wider compared to Moonrise Kingdom or even The Royal Tenenbaums and that I did not enjoy. I watch this director's films without searching for realism but at times this film seems to be too serious and at times so childish and audience members get confused. In conclusion Rushmore is a enjoyable and fun film to watch yet it did not affect me emotionally like other Anderson's films do so greatly.
Wes Anderson is a director who has his own style of film making. That style is unique and amazing. Often, contradicting the cinematic rules.Rushmore is the high school where our hero studies. He is very smart and active in all the extra- curricular activities. He is excellent in everything except studies. In the school library, he finds a note in the book that he reads, that leads him to a teacher. They become friends. Later he gets attracted to her.Style of making is the most important factor in this movie. You are going to watch it for Wes Anderson style.#KiduMovie
I love Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom and heard such great stuff about this film.Boy was I wrong. Jason Schwarzmann plays an unlikable, entitled douchebag and the only reason we sympathize with him is because the film tries so hard to insist upon it.I wanted to poke my eyes out and strangle kittens every time I see him with that teacher he basically harassed and tried to emotionally manipulate. And no one calls him on this??? Sorry, but it's taken me days to get to the end of this film and I feel like I've been watching it for weeks in five minute increments. Unforgivable long tedious minutes.
This film was a spectacular. It was nothing short of perfection in my opinion. When I say perfect I don't mean that the film is perfect in a category. For instance, I don't mean it's the perfect action adventure or comedy film, but that Rushmore is perfect because of it's plot, characters, and setting. I personally felt like I could relate to Max Fischer. We both try to make the most out of our high school experiences. The film Mr. Fantastic Fox was a very unique movie, however it wasn't one of my favorites. Even though I liked the character Mr. Fox an enjoyed his personal adventures and stunt; I couldn't help but dislike the intro of the film with his son and cousin. Watching these two made me think about the dilemma of growing up in to your teens, being in competitions with a someone who everything you wish you were, and being antisocial. Although, this isn't one of my favorites films doesn't mean it wasn't a very good film.
