Crappy film
A lot of fun.
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
This movie showed me what true love is. Without fear or limits, true love is powerful and very rare. Westley and Buttercup luckily found it. It is and always will be one of my favorite movies because it represents the purity of the human being. Something that nowadays doesn't happen, in my opinion.
'The Princess Bride (1987)' revolves around a bizarre framing device that does little other than lessen the impact of the main narrative's events, since it is clear they are only part of a story and 'never really happened' even within the wider fictional product. The movie's overall tone isn't as solid as you might expect, either, bouncing from slightly satirical to straight-up silly quite clumsily and often to distracting effect. Still, there's some fun to be had and the breezy pace pushes past some of the more contrived aspects, which are also covered by the picture's knowingly tongue-in-cheek outlook, so that the most entertaining of scenes, including a pretty fantastic - if slightly 'dinner-show' - swashbuckling sword fight, and chuckle-worthy of moments can be enjoyed without too much hesitation. 6/10
My love for this movie cannot be explained. The other day, some guy told me that this movie was terrible. My response?"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die"He looked at me like I was crazy, but, seeing as he manages to dislike this movie, I know he was really the crazy one.
Plot - This movie's story is dumb and convoluted, but its really funny and entertaining. Characters - The characters are dumb, and the acting is mediocre, but they're all really funny. Cinematography - This is a pretty cheap-looking movie.Overall this is a dumb and cheesy movie that is not meant to be taken seriously. It is extremely entertaining, and I'd recommend it.
