Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Such a frustrating disappointment
I'll tell you why so serious
Admirable film.
Excellent choice of Music selection, love the editing and the cast— wow, I think Chris Evans nailed this one really well. I like the semi- narcissistic introduction of the movie, and I think it really worked well for the overall production of this movie. Story-wise, I've watched a few (okay, maybe not a few but a Ton of Rom-coms) and this one really has a very different feel. The characters were relatable for writers and also to those who want to find another perspective when it comes to love itself. I won't really reveal more about this story but, I will tell you this—it has one of the best romcom scene's that I've ever seen.
Simply it was not the role for Chris Evans. The actor really has never established completely to the romantic movies, and proof of it is the final scene of this movie, the dialogue between Evans and Monaghan could have been more romantically convincing." Playing It Cool " is not a bad movie but it definitively could have been way better. Probably another cast assemble or to avoid leaving unfinished parts in the story. The film is predictable, there will be times when you will be anxious for what will happen, and some other times you will feel boredom and impatience. The perfect movie for a curious audience who really don't have nothing to do but watch a new movie with any type of expectations.
I watched this movie last night on my TV cable. Thank god I don't have to wasted money on it, since it is the worst romantic comedy movie ever. I turned off the channel after half of the movie because cant stand the sexism of the writing. It is so bad its gives me headache. And I already know how it will end, with the girl leaving her bf for this man. The lead characters has no chemistry, and many characters are there for their name only without any contribution for the story. From the first scene, the story depicts a low life main character who views women as sex object, I hate him. Then he met this gorgeous girl who has a bf and fall in love. How cliché is that? Chris Evan an Monica has no chemistry at all, I fell no sympathy at all for his character, and I don't feel sympathy at all for the girl either. They are both cheating snobs who deserve each other. A sexual predator and a cheating girl. What romantic about that at all? For real? If it is a real world, we can imagine that the next thing will happened is a 911 call for domestic violence. Since the man only view woman as sexual object of course. This movie is sexism and describe the reason why you should stay away from guys like the main character. They are sociopath and only cared about themselves. Avoid it and skip it whenever it pops in your TV cable.
This film tells the story of a philandering writer who finally changes his ways, when he meets a special woman in a charity event. They develop a relationship together despite the challenges and objective hardship.I'm positively surprised by the quality of "Playing It Cool", especially after finding out that it's the director's first full length film. "Playing It Cool" is so romantic and believable, that it is what every romantic film should be like. Chris Evans is very handsome and charismatic, carrying the film all the way through. There is even a showcase of him in different costumes and looks, and even in drag! The film is really all about him, and I'm not complaining. He and Michelle Monaghan are portrayed to be so authentically falling for each other, with romance blossoming gradually along the way. Even though the group of friends, who have very minor roles and are rather clichéd, they provide the spots for the plot to move forward. I really enjoyed this very romantic film.
