Dissecting George Lucas' early films, THX 1138 (1971), American Graffiti (1973), and Star Wars (1977), based on their autobiographic qualities, this short documentary investigates the advantages and disadvantages of reviewing a complicated cinematic work through the lens of an individual auteur. Does a filmmaker, particularly one whose films are drawn from personal experience, have the right to restrict access to their original works by substituting theatrical releases with director endorsed re-edits?

Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

"The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic" says already pretty much what this 40-minute documentary here is all about: a making of for the very famous recent Disney movie "Frozen". There are some actually really good parts in here when they really elaborate on how they made this movie and we hear all the wonderful songs from the film as well. Some of the interviewees (like Menzel) offer great insight into their work for this film. However, there are some cringeworthy parts too, such as Lasseter comparing the characters to his son's diabetes and sadly, as much as I love him as a filmmaker, he has some more smh-moments in here. And "Frozen" of course was a huge favorite to win at the Oscars, especially for Best Animated Feature, even if the people we see here want us to believe otherwise. So yeah, all in all an okay documentary and it may get you in the mood to rewatch this animated classic. Thumbs up.
