You won't be disappointed!
Very Cool!!!
Such a frustrating disappointment
The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
This is a fun movie to watch. Great to laugh at. I was shocked by the amount of people who took this movie seriously. What did you expect?? But it's a hilarious film. and to take up more space because there's really nothing more to say about it... But I've gotta say, this film is great if you aren't planning to take it seriously. Have a fun joking mood inside your jolly self and you'll be laughing even after the sad and tragic ending. I'm just kidding. It has a happy ending. What kind of Christmas story would it be if it had a sad and horrible ending? But anyway, It's a fabulous movie to watch. But watch it when it nears Christmas, because then it just makes it even more special. :)
I have just seen The Happy Elf on Cartoon Network and it was a charming, fun little movie. The Character animation was great as was the character design. I really enjoyed Lewis Black as the the new boss of the main character.I have never been fond of musical numbers in animation and after seeing this movie I'm still not But Harry Connick Jr's touch is felt here with a few jazzy numbers that are quite cool. The Happy Elf did not set my world on fire not that it should since I'm an adult but it was a enjoyable watch. It's a fun movie.
"The Happy Elf" debuts as yet another holiday special for the family - but this isn't a run of the mill show. The Christmas theme gets made over with high tech computer animation and a star packed cast featuring Harry Connick Jr., Carol Kane, Mickey Rooney, and more. The delightful animations show a myriad of nuanced facial expressions that draw the viewer into the story. The festive Christmas songs are also a great touch that really put the icing on the cake! This DVD is great holiday fun for the whole family. The story centers around the elf Eubie, who undertakes the massive task of bringing the Christmas spirit to the aptly-named Bluesville. This sets the stage for Eubie's ebuillent optimism versus the staid conventions of the townspeople. The typical "fish out of water" motif gets made over as both the North Pole and Bluesville become frustrated with Eubie's unbridled enthusiasm and determination to do what he knows is right. The plot is a wonderful Christmas fable that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. This DVD does a great job of carrying on the traditions set forth by such 60's classics as "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Frosty the Snowman," adding a modern touch to the medium without losing any of the features that keep this cartoons near and dear to our hearts. The songs, comedy, and adventure all add up to one irresistibly fresh take on Christmas! The DVD also includes entertaining extras such as a fullscreen or widescreen options, games, storyboards, cards, a coloring book, interviews, and more! Buy this DVD and bring Christmas joy to your family for years to come!
Let me start by saying that I love most Christmas movies, specials, etc. I also love children's programming & movies. That said, this video was PAINFUL for me to watch. The script, music and animation were hard to digest at the same time. I saw the trailer and thought it seemed cute enough. The premise of an elf helping a town find happiness, could be fun. So I head to Best Buy & plunk down my money, head home & wished to buy back the 45 minutes it took to watch. The animation was weak. It seemed like a school project. Most looked like flash animation. The scripting was as well amateurish. Too much time was taken by Eubie's happy antics & coal tossing, pushed further by the slap-stick pie throwing. Harry Connick Jr. is a good songwriter & I appreciate his music, but the songs he placed here, are a big waste of time. Stay clear. The best thing of this video was the packaging, with the blinking lights. But that song...
