Olle Hulten wakes up drunk on the ferry between Sandefjord and Strömstad. In his car is a gun and a lot of money. Simultaneously the police is chasing a robber whom have hijacked a car and is holding the security guard at gunpoint.

Olle is about to be tried for murder when his son, Jimmy, takes his school hostage and demands that his parents be released; Monika is sitting in a prisoner transport on the way to the trial.
Jimmy fights for his life while Olle is taken back to prison; Monika flees to Sweden to escape the police who are chasing her; Josefin struggles to keep family and business together.
Olle learns that Monika is at large, and realises that it's only a matter of time before she makes it to Strömstad; Olle gets into trouble with the prison's most dangerous prisoner.
A riot in the prison gives Olle new opportunities; Monika forces Josefin to the hospital where Jimmy has just woken up from his coma.
