"It's like DIE HARD in a skyscraper!" So the legend goes about how this was described by lead Anna Nicole Smith. The creative forces behind TO THE LIMIT (PM Entertainment, director Raymond Martino, Smith, and her breasts) reunite to deliver this completely brainless, yet surprisingly mesmerizing action picture.Carrie Wink (Smith) is a helicopter pilot with her head high in the clouds. She just happens to to land on a skyscraper that is under terrorist control. Coming into contact with a top secret super weapon, Carrie becomes the target of a ruthless but well dressed group of baddies led by a Pele look-a-like. With her cop beau aiding and abetting, she sets out to spoil the terrorists plans and, hopefully, take another long shower before the end credits. This is really a bad movie fan's wet dream. Action scenes rip off the greats of the time period (CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE) and, as always, PM packs the explosions with all the punch of a gas tanker full of nitroglycerin being driven by an angry William Friedkin. Couple these explosions with Smith's frequent nudity and terrible acting to make an intoxicating mix appear. Let's not forget this priceless dialog exchange as Smith thwarts a rapist's attempts:Villain: "You f%#king whore!"Smith: "You wanna f%#k me? Villain: "F%#k you!" Smith: "F%#k this!"She then shoots him and he falls out a window to the ground 10 floors below. Rob Zombie can only dream of writing such an exchange. Smith proved she had the acting talent of, well, a Playboy Playmate. Her son Daniel even appears as a hostage who becomes Carrie's surrogate son. *cringe* PM producer Joseph Merhi ended up exploiting Smith even more when he was a producer on the THE ANNA NICOLE SMITH STORY (2007), a cheapie whipped up quickly after her untimely death.

I was so disgusted at the end of this egregious train wreck of a film, I write this review to accomplish two tasks: vent my frustration at the time & money I wasted; warn those of you who haven't seen it yet before you plunge into the pool with no water. I write this assuming you have seen "Die Hard".First, apart from the gratuitous scenes of sex and nudity, the crew here attempted to duplicate every scene from "Die Hard". The way they were done was either absurd, ridiculous, or just stupid.Second…the acting! Much has been said about Smith's atrocious acting (if you could call it acting at all). However, all of the actors were lousy. Phony European accents. Male models trying to masquerade as terrorists. The alleged 'criminal mastermind' quoting Shakespeare, in a pathetic attempt to appear sophisticated. Poor delivery of lines. Plain unlikable characters in general. etc.Third, the way this "takeover" was carried out seemed implausible. If you bother to watch this mess, consider how 'believable' it was in "Die Hard", and how 'unbelievable' it is in this junk. Shootouts Fourth, clichés…so many clichés. If you bother to watch them, they will become extremely obvious. Especially the concept of the 'double cross'.Fifth…continuity. I guess with a movie with no budget, things like continuity will go by the waste side. Finally… the gratuitous sex and nudity. With a low-budget, direct-to-video piece of swine like this with Anna Nicole, this element had to exist, even though the scenes did not improve the so-called story. This had to be done obviously to captivate the men. It didn't work for me.The cast and crew behind the original "Die Hard" should be appalled at this. I found this movie an utter insult to the cast and crew that made the original DH so great. This movie should have never been made. It should be burnt.

I laughed, I laughed. Skyscraper is without doubt, the lamest movie I have ever seen. It was on one of my movie channels last night and I had to watch the whole thing to ensure it was indeed worthy of knocking Commando from the perch as the worst movie ever. Ana Nicole Smith, while topless in 2 scenes, basically read her lines (which may have been quite an accomplishment for her) with the emotional range of a dead squirrel. Setting aside Ana, the farcical gun play and other "acting" is simply terrible. Oh yea, and the story is a total plagiary of Die Hard. Worse movie ever. Worse movie ever. Worse movie ever. For a good laugh, enjoy.

Skyscraper is Die Hard with Anna Nicole Smith in the Bruce Willis role. In an effort to differentiate the two movies, they made her a helicopter pilot. Normally this would make the plot highly unbelievable (she takes on a gang of terrorists). But by the time the plot kicks in, you will already have given up on any hope that this is anything more than soft core porn. The sad thing is, Anna Nicole's acting skills aren't even up to that level. Actually, they don't exist. She reads every line in exactly the same monotone, whether whining to her husband that she wants a baby or pleading with the terrorists not to shoot a hostage. On the plus side, there is lots of nudity that gives new meaning to the word 'gratuitous'. Early on Anna Nicole gets home from a hard day's work and relaxes with a slow-motion shower. She seems to really enjoy it, giving special attention to her big-as-your-head breasts. Actually, that's the high point of her performance. But I don't think even Meryl Streep could have done much with this material. You've got your multi-ethnic team of what another reviewer called "Chippendales terrorists", each one a stereotype of some kind (my favourite was the French one, who would sprinkle his dialogue with exotic French words like "mes amis"). You've got your "brilliant" terrorist leader whose brilliance is supposed to be conveyed by his pretentious habit of meaninglessly quoting Shakespeare and by his lofty world-accent line delivery. I could go on about the brain-dead comic relief, the cheesy take-over-the-world plot, and dialogue that's beyond wooden - it's more like petrified wood - but I don't want to ruin the experience for you. That's right - I think you should see this film. I haven't laughed this hard since Showgirls.
