Memorable, crazy movie

Good movie but grossly overrated

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

So I learned something today. Apparently Portuguese people speak a language that is a mix between Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. And I didn't know that Madeira resembled Rio de Janeiro's favelas or slums. Also the insight of the astrologist was very useful - a very important detail in an athlete's career. It's really a shame for someone to try to document a rather international public figure with such a weak attention to details when it comes to culture or language. Please, get your facts straight!Other than that it's quite nice that you showed his charitable and benevolent side, which should arise from the vanity comments that he is target off. And of course, such a great star should be known by all people, specially the football lovers.

I'm not a huge soccer fan. Beyond David Beckham my knowledge about the sport is that you can't use your hands. I watched this documentary meanly because ever since the world cup started there has been endless chatter about Cristiano Ronaldo. Some of it was good (he is an excellent scorer) much of it was bad (He is a preening peacock) with all this applause and vitriol I decided to learn more and came across this documentary. No first off there are a few flaws. The narration is at times unfocused and there are these tangential asides that seem forced. These flaws aside the film is entertaining and informative and I walked away with a more well rounded view of the subject.

I thought this was a very well made documentary. The film goes over his childhood and how he came to where he is today. It also goes into some comparisons between him and Beckham, paparazzi stories, his generous donations and a somewhat secretive child he has. I learned a lot about Ronaldo. I had no idea he was such a caring person. We usually just see him as this flashy guy. But it seems he really takes care of people. He is very kind and generous with his money. And it seems, he's not just tossing his money around either, but takes the time to stop and listen to whoever he is helping. I definitely see him differently than I did before I watched this film.

I really enjoyed this documentary. I liked learning about Cristiano's childhood and his family. There's also lots of interesting tidbits. For example, as a child he was more of a quiet individual and now he poses for ads in his underwear (his own brand). Nothing wrong with that, I loved all the images of Cristiano in this film. There's also an interesting piece in this documentary where there is an astrologer, who directly relates Cristiano's communication style with his astrological sign. He said since Cristiano is an Aquarius that is partly why he excels in his communication. I don't know if that's true, but very interesting and is working for Cristiano. Before watching this film, I wouldn't have called myself a Cristiano fan, but now I am.
