Arthur is a spirited ten-year old whose parents are away looking for work, whose eccentric grandfather has been missing for several years, and who lives with his grandmother in a country house that, in two days, will be repossessed, torn down, and turned into a block of flats unless Arthur's grandfather returns to sign some papers and pay off the family debt. Arthur discovers that the key to success lies in his own descent into the land of the Minimoys, creatures no larger than a tooth, whom his grandfather helped relocate to their garden. Somewhere among them is hidden a pile of rubies, too. Can Arthur be of stout heart and save the day? Romance beckons as well, and a villain lurks.

It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

Another triumph! This film is now number 1 in my list of the worst films I've ever seen with Ernie Goes to Prison now languishing at number 2. Why Colm Meaney got involved I cannot imagine, maybe he owes community service or something. A lot of the cast were Irish too, the worst accents were REAL! Then again I'm not in the target demographic, not even in its suburbs so I have no idea on what level I should be giving my critique, its not even that relevant. I only saw the second half of it by accident. Couldn't switch, was frozen in horror. Randy Quaid, Kieran Culkin, Zoe Wanamaker, Whoopi, what is going on? I did not expect to actually recognise much of the cast in a production like this. I'd say kids love it though so fair enough. I wont even comment on the CGI. Ooops, I just did.And we spell recognise with an s, not a z. Capeesh?

This movie is the best movie in the universe. Daniel Betts (plays Mickey Muldoon) is so hot in this movie, I love the way they made Romeo & Juliet into a fantasy, and that song! omg I love the song it's my favorite. If you haven't seen this movie, or if you don't like it...you suck! Sean Devine is awesome as Mercutio, Mickey rules as Romeo, and Jessica as Juliet is perfect. Shamus is hilarious, Mary is wicked cool, Jack is just wow, etc etc etc! I can't get enough of this movie. I can't wait to order the DVD. I know I can get it at www.deepdiscountdvd.com for only nine some-odd dollars, so I'm going there next. Hope it comes this time, I ordered it before but they messed something up and it never came.

This is a really good movie. It is entertaining and it has so much going on that it keeps me entertained for hours. The love between Princess Jessica and Mickey is just so magical. It has a lot of funny moments in it as well as lots of romance and magic. I don't really have a favorite part but it is all great. The effects are just amazing like the under water castle that Jessica was taken to and how the leprechauns were taken up into the fairie castle by a bubble. This movie is really fun and magical. If you love magical things then I beleive that this is the movie for you.

While I watched this I kept thinking about William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet", which is very similar to this movie right down to the warring families. There are however many differences which make this better than just another adaption to the play. I enjoyed watching this mini series as I love magic and anything to do with it.
