The Resistance
In 1937, Japan began their invasion of China by murdering over 300,000 people in the capital of Nanjing. The atrocities committed against women and their daughters are especially barbaric. One of them is Xiaoyun, a peasant girl who fights with the Chinese resistance group. On her way to freedom she must fight against Japanese soldiers, ninjas, a killer geisha, Nazis, and the evil General of the Japanese imperial army.

Memorable, crazy movie
Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
This movie is quite ridiculous, historically absurd and pure Chinese Communist regime propaganda. Intended to fan the flames of the fire of hatred they've promoted for years, to distract the population from the atrocities committed against their own people by the PRC authoritarian regime.
THE RESISTANCE is a cheap US/Chinese co-production that's a piece of propaganda about resistance forces fighting back against the invading Japanese army in 1937. It's a low budget-looking thing in which most of the scenes take place in the dark with an ugly blue tint to the camera rendering realism and cinematography redundant because you can barely see what's going on.The story is about a bunch of characters, male and female, who stand up against their oppressors. And before long you realise that this is nothing more than a straight-up copy of the far superior IP MAN, right down to the tournament battles between a Chinese hero and a Japanese fighter in a room surrounded by jeering Japanese spectators. The main Japanese bad guy is almost exactly the same as the one in IP MAN.It goes without saying that the fight choreography is much, much worse than in the Donnie Yen movie and almost unwatchable in places. To keep the momentum going a few random ninja scenes are added to the plot along with some fake-looking CGI blood. What this all amounts to is a cheesy B-movie without an ounce of common sense or originality to redeem it.
I love this filmTrue Chinese spiritA sad story, with a tragic heroine, who became a member of the resistance, then later become ninja fighter to revenge her people! She challenge ninjas, soldiers, killer geisha, and a tattooed general who is a friend of the Nazis!Sadly, the story is inspired by a true event of Nanking massacre during 1937, but despite the movie is an action entertaining movie, it also keep it focus on the tragedy plot. That's why Xiaoyun is my heroine, she is part of the tragedy, because of this horrible event she lost everything, now to prevent this event to spread she must become fighter. And she does do what she must to protect the innocent even if it means to become a murderer herselfI give full score to this film, I love it...
Let's put it this way: if you paid 1 for this film, you'll feel robbed. After the competent introduction using stock footage, the film begins proper with god-awful CGI blood and it's not a good sign. The "acting" then kicks in and, along with the poor dialogue, cheesy music and cheap setting, this has "low budget trash" written all over it.Now, where I've nothing against low budget films, I do have plenty against bad films, and am I really going to waste another 80-odd minutes of my life on something so thoroughly terrible, or am I going to turn it off 10 minutes in and warn others not to even bother with it?So, not much of a "review" for this, but more of a warning. Hopefully, this helps.
