Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
I don't know the director. I'm not related to a cast member. I'm not starstruck after seeing this at some frightfest in some collegetown festival. This is a genuinely, edge of seat, peek beyond the pillow 100% ghost story with suspense, jumps, leaps and "DID YOU SEE THAT????" moments.I'm honestly surprised anyone could mention the budget, I was more worried about what was in the shadows.....If the independent film industry can deliver popcorn feightfests this effectively without needing to rope in Katy Perry to play the damasel in distress, then we can rest assured, as the viewing public, that we're in for some fun !
Munger Road is a great Thriller and Suspense Movie,I enjoyed the Cast especially Bruce Davidson. The Story line is very cool and the movie moves at a great pace. The story is very believable and first time director Smith does a fantastic job. Nice to see a movie that is not all blood and guts and actually has the audience thinking. Reminds me of the Alfred Hitchcock film genre. The film ends with the lead in to a Munger Road 2 , I see this story line having the capability of carrying at least two sequels. This would make a great TV Series for cable I can'not wait to see the sequel as this has been one of the best suspense films that I have seen since " Signs"
Being a St. Charles native and frequent user of Munger Road this movie was a must see. I've never seen the Charleston Mall Theater SO packed at a midnight showing!!!Love the fact this wasn't your gore porn genre horror but a throwback to the Hitchcock style of thinking and letting the viewers mind run wild in fear. The opening shot of St. Charles is stunning and impressively done for such a young crew on a tight budget. The suspense builds up from the beginning and the dual story lines keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire film! its a must see and ill be waiting for the sequel and DVD release, recommend you guys do the same. definitely worth a viewing.
I went to see Munger Road because I'm a horror fan and I'm from the town where it's filmed.Munger Road is well meaning and starts off with a typical premise. Serial killer escapes and returns to his hometown. Kids head off to scary road for some thrills encounter something horribly wrong. It's obvious that wealthy dad was the key to getting this made, because as a writer and director Nicholas Smith is bottom of the barrel. There are so many holes and so much stupidity on the parts of the characters watching was a chore and a bore.Characters walking through tunnels arriving at roughly the same time other characters who drove to the same place made the plot preposterous too. Also, the resolution was flimsy and unjustified.Bad, bad, bad.St. Charles, IL looked really cool though...
