Such a frustrating disappointment
It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
One more time, Angie Dickinson proves how convincing she is in her performances. Here, I was of course very impatient to watch her in this powerful role of the wife facing her husband's death and her child behavior towards her. The story itself is not so unusual, but so beautifully made, with such a cast. And as usual with TV movies, they are so close to reality, to real people as you and me. The audiences feel really implicated in such schemes. French or British, no matter, such things may happen anywhere. And you know what, I am a man and despite of that, the Angie Dickinson's performance is so powerful, so convincing, that I can feel myself as if I was her...i was glued to this TV feature, even with no suspense. Only because of the characters.
