Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
A highly entertaining, perfectly executed, romantic-comedy that anyone can relate to. This is the beautiful Lily Tomlin and the suave John Travolta at their best! Recent (unfounded) allegations against John Travolta create a scruple in your mind regarding his sexuality? This film will set you straight. The chemistry between the two leads is such that their burning sexual/romantic desire is palpable. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it came out that they had a love affair off-camera during the filming of the production.Keep an eye out for an early appearance from the canine actor that went on to star in Spielberg's E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial!
This movie was filled with great moments. One of the funniest things I have seen in quite some time. This is a misunderstood gem! John Travolta and Lily Tomlin have excellent chemistry on camera and are directed in such a way that you will never see again. This is a one-of-a-kind film. Watch it with your friends, you will be sure to have a good time! There is a treasure trove of great lines and moments in this movie. Since this has not been released on home video, I urge anyone who reads this review to go see it. If your local theater is screening this wonderful film, don't hesitate to pick up some tickets! Take a friend, take a family member. You wont regret watching this rare and intriguing film.
John Travolta plays Strip Sunset, the ultimate female man-toy! If you are a fan of sexy fun on the beach, May-December romance, foot worship, muddy dogs, and awkward, boner-killing PG-13 pseudo-sex scenes, look no further. This is the brownest film ever made. And by "brown", I mean terrible, muted 70's tones that suck and make you sad. This is the 70's, with a large side of 70's. If you are manic-depressive, you might want to check this one out. Contemplating suicide? Do it. Contemplating John Travolta's sexuality? I'M NOT. He got 2 (count em, TWO) HJ's from Lily Tomlin. HE'S STRAIGHT AS F--- DOG. Go kill yourself. But watch MbM first!
if you like comedies, romantic comedies, or romances raise your hand? if you raised your hand your in for a ride. This little treat features great pacing and classic lines that could only come from such a platonic relationship both john travolta and lily tomlin could deliver. The infamous hot tub scene almost rivals the emotional weight such scenes as marlon brando's last scene in apocalypse now does with it's subtle line delivery. I think what makes this film great is that they put the characters in situations we all can relate to. Travolta's character almost reminds me of a older Holden Caulfield type. I came for the travolta, but stayed for the tomlin.
