Nice effects though.
I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
Yo, there's no way for me to review this film without saying, take your *insert ethnicity + "ass" here* to see this film, like now. You have to see it in order to know what you're really messing with.
A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
Ugh.Candace Cameron Bure is a doctor attempting to follow in her father's footsteps and be a medical fellow in Boston. She only applies to one location and doesn't receive an invitation. She ends up in Garland, Alaska (read podunk Alasaka) where there is one general store and one handyman and one electrician, etc..Things are different in Garland and some things seem off, others magical even..In the end the story is bland and Candace, well if I had some spiked egg nog this movie might have been palatable. Move along to the next movie and leave this one under the tree.
Looking at some of the other reviews, it never occurred to me, that in Alaska during December it is dark most of the time. But this Hallmark Movie is typical of all their movies. The woman is single and ends up falling in love with some man. Or she is divorced/widowed with a young son who is plays baseball and coached by a handsome man and they fall in love and live happily ever after. This movie has more holes than a Swiss cheese. They would have been better to set the move in the state where it was filmed. One of the previous comments was it was supposed to be so cold, but all the extras are walking around like it's 50 degrees and not 10 degrees
Welcome back Candace!!I loved this movie!! It was a nice sappy romantic movie. I Actually believed Candace was a DOCTOR!! Unlike that atrocious movie called "Finding Normal" (Click on my review of that movie if you wanna laugh)Dr. Burnell actually saw more patients than her "Other" character. Her romance with David O'Donnell's "Andy" and her relationship with Andy's dad, "Frank Holiday" was funny, believable but predictable. Thanks for the Goofs page of IMDb. I did not know that in December it would be dark at 6:30 am. Being that I am in Missouri and the cast wasn't. But it made a good movie anyway. 7 out of 10 Well worth the time to watch!
This is a great example of how lack of creativity can still earn money. And a sad example of how people rate a cheesy, mediocre movie 7 out of 10, probably wishing this was their Christmas miracle story next year...The first 10 minutes were like watching season 1 of Heart of Dixie all over again... I was just waiting to hear Dr Zoe Harper's name mentioned at some point...I have seen far, far better movies - at least movies non pasteurized that have way lower score here. IMDb used to be a reliable source - not any more.
