It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

The Last Lear is a movie based on Shakespeare's play and the way it has been portrayed by Rituparno Ghosh is just mind blowing.Although its too late that i am posting my review but this is my bad luck that i have seen this movie now and as soon as i have completed the movie,i am over to this review. The movie Stars great actors,Amitabh Bachchan, Priety Zinta,Arjun Rampal.Preity Zinta was very good.Portraying Shabnam, an actress troubled with her marriage and personal life, who decides to take a visit at Harish's(Amitabh Bachchan) residence who is dying on the day when his first movie is being premiered.Arjun Rampal meanwhile contemplates some thought that worries him.

The last lear is certainly one of the best art film that i have seen and also the only one that I truly love watching. The pairing of Amitabh Bachchan and Rituparno Ghosh is simply superb and does yield the fruit in the end.All stars in it are brilliant.Amitabh Bachchan in particular is excellent in the movie and has given a lifetime performance in this Shakespearean age play. The Last Lear is the story of an aged theater personality who claims to have set the stages ablaze with his performances. The kind of actor who considers himself too good simply because he just cannot be bad. Each and every scene has been beautifully shot and the emotions of actors are beautifully relayed across the screen. The Last Lear is a very intelligently and well-made movie. It has a beautiful script and the film over all is simply superb throughout.

The Last Lear is a movie directed by one of the best director of our film Industry Rituparno Ghosh.I used to watch all his movie and for me,perhaps this is the best movie given by him.The person who adds four moons in the movie is Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. The way he acted in the movie was just mind blowing. This is one art film that you can not afford to miss. It's an intriguing movie in typical Ghosh style, where people quietly sit and talk and the narration is by means of flashbacks. The story is that of an ageing and ailing stage actor being persuaded to act in a movie, which happens to be his last, and has been left in a coma as the aftereffects of the shooting.

I really like the plays of Shakespeare and this is the first time i have seen the movie based on his play,an art movie.I have seen all the movies given by Arindam Chaudhuri's Planman Productions and this is perhaps their best movie. The Last Lear, perfect title for the movie, with perfect cast and perfect story. The director finds a way of telling you the story of Harish(Harry) in a slow but amusing way!The last lear is about Harish Mishra(Amitabh Bachchan),a retired Shakespearean theater actor who spent precisely more than thirty years on stage and then suddenly quit.He is immensely passionate about Shakespeare and believes that nothing even comparable can ever be written.
