Yawn. Poorly Filmed Snooze Fest.
Load of rubbish!!
In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.
This came in a multi pack dvd with some garbage movies like Prophecy (Christopher Walkin) and Howling IV. So, I was not expecting much, except maybe some laugher. No laughter to be found here. What we have is a young man, who's parents were killed, working in the library, who happens to be interested in watching and stalking people, even going into their homes. He is befriended by a cute/punk chick that he was stalking. He then stalks a couple by going into their house. He is discovered and they befriend him rather than calling the cops. Apparently the couple's son died a year before. He spends the night on the couch after watching TV. When he leaves he gets run over by a hit and run driver. The couple take him in, both legs busted, and nurse him. The couple at first, especially the wife, are very friendly and just want to befriend this young man. But then the wife thinks he is their dead son returned. The husband doesn't buy into that at first, but he too also believes he is his son. After a few days they treat him like he is their son. The guy realized these people are nuts and just wants to leave. Tons of tension. It is well acted. And the screenplay is decent. It's low budget and the video quality shows. It played out that possibly the kid was the one that was sick, maybe amnesia. If it wasn't for the grave beneath the one they buried him in, this mystery may have continued to the end. Rather than the punk chick rescuing him at the end, I guess a better ending may have been if the kid got out of the grave somehow and killed the wife and husband. And we find out that they were not really crazy, that he was really their kid. Hey, just an idea. But as it's shown, this is a good movie. If you can go past the low budget video production.Rating C, or 6 stars.
For those of you missed "Misery" we have a watered down version. Alex (Nicholas D'Agosto) is a voyeur and not a very good one. He gets caught by a couple while in their house. They believe Alex is their dead son Timmy who has come back to them as he is held prisoner after his accident. Started out good with Alex approaching Crispin Glover type of creeper. Leighton Meester added a perky klepto character that was for the most part wasted. This is a film that is available on multi-packs which may be the best way to buy this one. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
From the storyline and direction. Kudos. The suspense and mystery was definitely there. I found myself screaming at the television a few times wondering whats to happen next or guessing the finale. I was expecting so many different outcomes and totally didn't expect the ending along with the message on grieving and coping with lost ones. I enjoy a good eerie movie and each character had a unusual presence which kept you wondering who's the crazy one here. Cheryl White (Alice Smith) was awesome. She nailed her role visually and in performance. But overall with a few locations, a small cast, and a small budget. Quite impressive and well thought out, I can't wait to see more of the director's work! A must see if you are into original Suspense/Thriller flicks.
before i saw this film i was not sure what to expect as i was sensing some supernatural or horror genre but this is totally the opposite it was release a decade back with unknown and new cast the budget was low the dialogs are slightly over the top but the script and execution is outstanding hats off to the director plus this film is deep and does have a lot of messages like when its time to let things go when you some loved one is no more how to overcome it however its not totally about that its about what in between happens the process its a lesson about collection if you love collecting things one day they go or either you go in the grave it doesn't matter if it yours or not one day you have to let it go.the plot:Alex is a young boy who works at a library one day he reaches out to a strange a depressed couple things slowly turn as he is taken hostage by them because he looked like their dead son Timmy.the cast:almost everyone deserves an applause for the performances i did liked Cheryl White and Leighton Meester.the director knew what he wanted the result is amazing the film has a lot of hidden messages about everything but obsession is the main topic as the couple was crazy to hold some kid like that for days.Overall Inside 2006 is gone unnoticed as hardly any critics or people have seen this so if i have to tell what are my favorite films from the last decade this one is definitely on the list for being very underrated my rating is 8/10:its recommend by me a must watch.
