This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

I enjoyed this movie very much and found it to be a very digestible and light hearted account of a seemingly all to familiar account of a hard done girl who finds love to have it taken away again. Then acting was very good and just right for the premise. Movies don't necessarily always need 'A' class acting but instead just need the 'correct' acting appropriate to the story wishing to be conveyed and this certainly was - A movie your Nan would enjoy on an afternoon before her dinner! Very good and very enjoyable

While the production was low budget, the story was a powerful one. After a slow and depressing start to a tragic tale of a young woman forced down a path of poor choices and lack of familial support further disenfranchised by a corrupt justice system, I wondered what was the point of continuing to watch this depressing movie. Then the direction changes and becomes a story of trust, love and forgiveness. I have always been a fan of Jaime King but she truly raises the bar with her passionate portrayal of Toni Jo Henry and how she found redemption and hope in her final days.

Keep it simple...this movie is a waste of time! However, and a big however...Jaime King's performance as Toni Jo Henry, the condemned killer is good, very good and perhaps the only reason to see the complete movie. The overall production is amateurish. Everything from props, makeup, editing, acting, directing somehow is attention getting in an annoying way. But, the true story line keeps your attention along with King's performance. (spoiler possible) By the time Toni Jo sits in the electric chair we really don't care one way or the other. After all she was involved in the murder at least as an accomplice. It's on Netflix (as of 12-22-2015)

The Pardon brings you, the viewer, front and center into the middle of the real-life story of Toni Jo Henry and the murder trial that ensues. Performances from actors John Hawkes, Jaime King and T.J. Thyne are gripping and evoke deep emotional connections with each character. While the subject of childhood abuse introduces us into the unveiling storyline, a more compelling bond of strength, friendship and resilience personifies the true heart of this film! The movie footage captures some amazing scenes, both in mood and context, while the close-ups of Jaime King give us a true "look" into the heart and soul of Toni Jo. A refreshing view into some perhaps forgotten pages of history. A remarkably well written and poignant movie you will not want to miss! Exceptional.
