One Six Right
An exhilarating documentary film that celebrates the unsung hero of aviation - the local airport - by tracing the life, history, and struggles of an airport icon: Southern California's Van Nuys Airport. Featuring thrilling aerial photography and a sweeping original score, the film dispels common misconceptions and opposes criticism of General Aviation airports.

A Disappointing Continuation
This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
I stumbled upon this film on-line and literally fell in love with aviation almost as strongly as I fell in love with my wife. I have always been a fan of aviation but, this extraordinary film captures the emotions of flight unlike anyone has been able to convey before. The cinematography on the ground and especially in the air is outstanding, the editing is top notch and the score is on par with any of Hollywood's best. Bravo! I plan to watch this film over and over again.Congratulation Brian, generations will take to the skies because of your passion and outstanding skill displayed in this wonderful film.
The cinematography, the music, and the content are truly brilliant. Having spent more than 20 years in - and retiring from - the Tower pictured in the opening sequence, I can tell you that Brian captured the true essence of his subject - Van Nuys Airport. Consistently one of the busiest airports in the nation VNY is quite often overlooked but by any standards is a true asset to the industry. Brian too, becomes a asset to all GA lovers with his remarkable rendition of life on the ground and in the sky over Southern California. This is a pioneering effort in the making of High-Definition films - flawless. The colors are spectacular and the extra features on the DVD show how the original music was composed. A must see even if you're not an 'airplane fan'.
I just watched the above on a local HD channel this past Monday night and must say what a beautiful documentary it is! I was captivated by the personal stories as well as the various pictures (both old and new) and awesome HD footage so crisp and clear. I especially enjoyed how you would show an older picture of the airfield (for example), then fade to a newer picture which was correctly placed over the older picture. I have always enjoyed this effect and yours was truly amazing. It really offers an interesting perspective of how the airfield has grown over the years. Furthermore, kudos's to Mr. Wang for a terrific soundtrack.I have a personal connection to your film as well. Stacy Sheard, whom you interviewed while performing her duties as a medical helicopter pilot, has been performing her duties as a new helicopter delivery pilot here at Keystone Helicopter for over the past year. She is an interesting person and very well liked by all.In closing, keep up the great work and I look forward to future productions. If there is ever anything I can ever do to assist, please don't hesitate to call.Wishing you continued success!!
As a Post Production company owner, a pilot, and even a previous tenant of Van Nuys Airport, I was blown away with the beauty, grace (air to air shots) and the haunting musical score. Terwilliger has obviously put enormous time and talent in this. From the thoroughly researched historical presentation to the many beautiful transitions to and from archival footage and the presentation of many individuals who were there in the early days and still with us now and, sadly, a few who have passed on since the production. Even if you are not a pilot, an aviation enthusiast, or even someone who is unfamiliar with "general aviation", you'll be moved.
