Just perfect...
Absolutely brilliant
it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
But my god, what a waste of time this movie is.It's never explained who Keanu really is, I guess we're supposed to come to the conclusion that he's a diamonds trader on the black market..Has some basic firearms training and knowledge, but apparently he is "not a spy"Falls in love? Or just lust? with this ugly russian female for no real reason... you'd think someone in his profession would be used to temptations. Can't track down the person who's supposedly holding his millions of dollars worth of diamonds, seemed like a good idea for him to hold them didn't it?he's apparently forced to stay and complete the diamond transaction, where his cocaine blow job experience was enough to build trust with a russian mob boss so much so, to not verify 50M+ worth of diamonds, but let's be honest, the movie would of basically ended there since they would of killed him on the spot, which honestly, would of been a better ending.Fights 6+ dudes who all have fully automatic weapons with a bolt action Mosin-Nagant was it? Instead of just leaving and finding an alternative way to fix his problem.Dies from a dude who was able to walk up point blank with a shotgun out of nowhere...I'm not sure why Keanu made this movie, because I love him usually, but this one was a major disappointment. Unless you enjoy boring movies which make no actual sense, I'd stay away...
Don't understand these brain dead ratings but I don't understand the world in general anymore when cheesy super hero movies get 9s 10s.Going by the old IMDb ratings from 10 years ago this is a solid 5.7 - 6. To have this in the 4s in the same category as Horrendous B movies is insane. There need not be a deep story to enjoy this movie. It's a slow burner with a very superficial story, but it's still very enjoyable. It's John Wick with less killing, if you want suspense it's definitely there.I enjoyed all the John Wick movies even though they weren't masterpiece but legit Solid 6s. If you enjoy those give this movie a try, the acting is very good. Ignore the horrendous ratings and enjoy a Russian nostalgic noir.
I honestly cannot think of a movie that is worse than this one. It is boring as hell and the storyline doesn't make any sense. A high school student could produce a better film.
I don't understand this kind of film, it's a flatness. It has no direction, two films in one, but Neither of these of these 2 stories are develloped. Matthew Ross would have been choosing which story he wanted to tell. That of diamonds is slightly better. The other (romance) is interest, the couple Lucas (Keanu Reeves) Katya (Ana Ularu) doesn't work. No complicity between them, no listening, it's a story I don't believe. It lacks a lot of deeds or words, maybe time to make credible this superficial relationship. Keanu Reeves is an ice cube and Ularu imposes nothing, no character, this woman is transparent, no real personality, I just perceived her pride and like all good the proud person thinks that hes only presence is enough, why do when you are the best? that's what I felt. The director should have chosen a real actress because there, the film is already painful to watch but more than the actor is bad ,it quickly reaches the horror. My language to her is strong, but after the movie, it was so disgusting that I went to see on the web to understand who was this woman, during my research, I came across some interesting facts on her instagram, she could only tell people to go on IMDb to show their love (those are his words) so shameless craving must have a shameful nay. I have never seen something like that before. Very badly polished, everything is a must have for she and "love is for the beings to decide what they will do". Her request was without respect for the "public", I do not tell you all that I read that confirms are my pride, I just explain to you why I do not spare this woman, that may sound a bit extreme . So with that, I continue my criticism ... The end, the exchange is pathetic, especially since Katya, one of the big concerns of this scene, shows an indifference to what she saw, to be more precise, she shows insane things. If Lucas on the other hand is very genious, very anxious Katya not at all, decidedly (I know I add a layer, but facing so much pride ...on the other hand, I am honest in what I say, I'm not excessive, I see in my life, I don't judge. In addition, I don't have the abitance to treat others badly because it doesn't go to a man when he is down, still when he is dead and gone. )this woman dream completely, no charisma, she played in inferno (very mediocre film too, none of this was Ana Ularu's fault, of course.) I don't remember her at all. you the truth, her presence on screen reach the almost to nought (that's her fault). The other characters are a little more aggressive. In a film, it is not enough to explain to us that this woman is strong, if she does not live it. Boris (Pasha D. Lychnikoff) could have been convadictive, but scriptwriting weakness does not allow him. I hesitate to talk about dialogues ... probably a child wrote this scenario, blah, blah, blah that bring nothing concrete to the film. A great disappointment for me, to flee without turning around. I was long and I deviated a little bit from my criticism of Ana Ularu, but I thought it was important to write it, I apologize if it distresses you. Take care of yourself. Jacob
