Memorable, crazy movie
When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
Then again the magic was never really there as I did not like the two short films before this one either. Still, this third and final little movie "Trail Mix-Up", which runs for 9 minutes is probably the weakest from the trio. I cannot believe they still did not come up with anything other than Roger trying to save the baby and in the end he enters the real world and causes mayhem there with the baby actor having a deep criminal voice. Speaking about deep voices, "Jessica Rabbit" sounds like she has been chain smoking for 30 years. Really unattractive and Oscar nominee Kathleen Turner may not have been a great choice for her. Steven Spielberg produced this stinker, so nobody's perfect i guess. They tried to make the cartoon comedy retro-style, but it never reached the charm of these very old cartoons. Not recommended and glad the series ended after this one. You#re not missing much.
Baby Herman causes trouble for Roger Rabbit again when he wanders off into the woods whilst on a picnic. All manner of craziness ensues.I'm not the biggest fan of the Roger Rabbit shorts, finding Roger's voice a little on the irritating side and the relentlessly madcap nature and breakneck speed of the action, something akin to Tex Avery on speed, just a touch too excessive for my taste (I had the same problem with Spielberg's equally insane Animaniacs).Even though Trail Mix-Up doesn't rate as highly with me as it does with other reviewers here on IMDb, I still recommend it if only for the fact that pneumatic Jessica Rabbit appears wearing a sexy park ranger's uniform (cue wolf-whistles, leg thumping on table, jaw hitting the floor, eyes popping out, and steam erupting from ears!).(Please excuse the fact that all the reviews I have written for the Roger Rabbit shorts are almost identical—since all three cartoons follow exactly the same formula, I thought I would save myself some time!)
I liked the tree falling on Roger miles away. I liked Roger getting squashed with the falling logs. I liked Roger getting sawed into a million little Rogers, and I liked Roger flying into a national monument especially when it screams back at him, but even with all of that, TRAIL MIX-UP had to be my least favorite. I dunno, it just felt to all over the place, like it didn't know where it was going. I also didn't like the hidden poster with the play boyish woman straddling the saw, that just made the cartoon a little less enjoyable for me.It is though one of the only THREE Roger Rabbit shorts, so if you like him, you should watch it.Adios, Amigos
This short was very funny. I like the Droopy scenes. Every Roger Rabbit short has a cameo by Jessica, and this one does too. It is a very funny one. I wish they would make more of these Roger Rabbit shorts, but I can only find three. Oh well do yourself a favor don't miss this one.
