I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

I remember seeing an early episode of "Ed, Edd 'N Eddy" and thinking it was just dumb. I saw about two or three later episodes and admitted that it wasn't bad for me. It just wasn't my thing. I kept hearing about this movie on TVTropes. They even included it in their drinking game where someone mentioned we should take a sip every time we see it mentioned. I did see it and it was about as wonderful as I thought it was. This movie was so good I would recommend it to people who aren't fans of the show. In fact, from what I heard this movie was actually BETTER than the show. I mean, it was certainly better than the couple of episodes I did see.I thought maybe it would be boring until the finale everyone talks about, but it certainly wasn't. I thought maybe the whole thing would be told in a flashback, but we never do find out the implications of the scheme that made everybody angrier than they already have been. Maybe it's just as well. I know enough about the show to understand the basic concept and I know most of the characters' names and everything. I mean, it was advertised on Cartoon Network all the time which I always watched. Does this mean I'm going to go back and watch the show? Hmmm, maybe. I'm just as satisfied telling people about this great movie. What's so wonderful is that we get to see a lot of time devoted to each of the individual characters. It's great to just see how they exist in their own world and of course how they affect all each other in the end. This movie had tons of great slapstick. There were so many great gags going on all the time. Well, they actually make fun of the actual use of slapstick. Eddy explicitly mentions it by name. I admit some of the animation could be better and the close ups can be annoying. It's still great all the way through chock full of adventure that the show never had. There's even a setup for a sequel at the very end! It features Jonny possibly becoming a new villain in the series, but then he's told the movie's over. That was a fantastic way to end the series and I couldn't have thought of a better one. I really do think this did a better job than "Gravity Falls". It resolved more story and hey, Eddy even got a kiss from Nazz! If only Dipper had a better love life. Yep, that's my avatar! I recognized the voice of one of the Kanker sisters. Having not watched most of the show, I knew it sounded familiar. I then realized it was someone from "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic". Then I finally realized it was Trixie's voice! Great to see how this voice actress started out. There's a really popular theory going around that Ed, Edd 'N Eddy takes place in Purgatory. That's why adults never appeared or something. Well, this movie actually does feature adults for the first (and only) time in the whole series. We see the lower parts of their bodies when Johnny is on the bus. So has this theory been disproven? If not, then I love the idea that the Edds and the other kids at the Cul-De-Sac have finally ascended to Heaven, having learned their lesson of unity after all this time.I just wish I could have seen them with the actual Jawbreakers in their mouths! Well, it's said they do get them at least. It wasn't a distant finale, but it still answered every question we wanted answered. Maybe it's just because Donald Trump became President that I feel like we're in a new age. At least we have something as good as this to look back on. A pity nearly all animated movies are CGI as I really do suspect this would do well in theaters. I especially love the first two minutes, where it's nothing but silence and no music while the sign is brought up. It perfectly sets up the movie. So as Edd himself says, it took them 130 episodes to finally get what they wanted. It was worth it. ****

Obviously only Ed, Edd n Eddy fans review this movie based on the scores. Do not get me wrong, I adore the first three or so seasons of the show a lot even now that I am older. Sadly, somewhere around the fourth season it took the goofy qualities too far and just kind of became obnoxious. Having just discovered the movie on Youtube today though, I thought I would try to be as objective in my opinion as possible for this finale. My opinion? Better than those last few seasons, but still lacking. Some of my biggest complaints over the years has been the over exaggeration of the voice acting and the lack of genuine conversation and quieter moments. Sadly, they still persist here. Everyone talks by shouting their lungs out most of the time and I could hardly find a minute of the show that did not have people falling on or crashing into something. Sometimes it was humorous and sometimes it was just filler. The funniest bits were from the side jokes strewn about about the mayhem (my favorite was the dialogue used in a scene with a peanut). Do not give me the "but they always did goofy physical gags" argument because the early seasons actually had quite clever writing, character development and simplicity that made it rather smart. Even Ed's phrases were more clever and less random than here (usually they were word plays or bits that somewhat related to whatever was in the scene). I will say that this definitely had a lot more plot than most of the last few seasons. After a clever intro credits and a ludicrous but entertaining car chase, the movie keeps the various threads moving at a consistent pace. Admittedly, sometimes the journeys are more fun than the results. The Ed's journey is overall entertaining to follow if a bit overwrought (could have used a bit more substance to the obligatory "friendship strained" bit). Rolf's plot had some potential, but kind of meandered about a lot of dumb gags to a non-ending. Jonny's plot was a serious waste of time and should have been integrated into Rolf's thread for some better character development (especially with the lame ending to his story). I enjoyed the bits with Sarah, Jimmy and the Kankers for what screen time they had. The best of the threads, however, involved Kevin and Nazz. At least here they were trying to do character development and it had some nice moments. All of these threads, however, suffer from just not having the heart of the first few seasons. The show is just trying to be goofy without simplicity, but at least here it is not trying to hide that anymore. The best segment occurs at the very end with a surprise reveal of....Eddy's Brother! Although it feels a little short (if it had more to do with the plot, I could see it having a lot more heart and appeal), it added a different dimension to the story that actually made me care.Big Picture Show is not the series at its finest, but for a finale it could have been a lot worse.

Sometime after "Ed, Edd, n Eddy" came out in 1999, I immediately became a big fan of the show. I loved how all the characters had their own unique personality, the great story lines, and the hilarious humor that each episode had. And now in 2009, the movie entitled "Ed, Edd, n Eddy's Big Picture Show" comes out and it is bigger and funnier than any of the episodes that the series had to offer. The story of the movie is about another scam that the Eds have come up with making a turn for the worse and now all of the kids of the Cul-De-Sac want to get revenge for what happened to them. The Eds come up with a solution that the only place that they will be safe at is where Eddy's brothers lives, so then they begin a journey to get there before the kids catch up with them.Aside from the humor and great story, the movie also offers some good references from the show that really brings back the memories from the old episodes of the series. The animation and character development was pretty good as always and some scenes, such as action sequence during the beginning, were very well written and directed. As for the ending, I won't spoil it for anyone but I will say this: it is an ending that the fans will very love. And although this movie marks the end of the series, it was great living the memories again.Rating: **** out of **** P.S. Stick around after the movie ends because there is an extra scene after the credits.

I had known about this film being in production since 2007, when it was originally supposed to come out. It has been several years in the making, and I ave been waiting for along time, but now, I finally have seen it........wow, it was sooo Worth the wait! The opening sequence is chilling and epic, the first scenes are awesome and reminiscent of a rabid-zombie-chase scene, the way that we never actually find out what this scam that went badly wrong, actually is, is great and leaves it to the viewers' imagination. The later scenes, of the Eds wandering through deserts, fields, woods and areas they have never been to, such as the Gag-factory and the highway, bring a sense of epicness and mystery to the film. Several of the show's biggest secrets are revealed in the film, such as who it is that Nazz has a crush on (We never truly find out, but it is pretty obviously Kevin), who Eddy's brother looks like, but the matter of the mystery beneath Edd's hat still remains a mystery, which I think is a good thing. If they had revealed it, it would have been either completely ridiculous, or not live up to the hype. The final scene is the only thing I can find negative about it. The whole scene itself works well, but it all seems a bit rushed. In a matter of about 10-15 minutes, we meet Eddy's brother, find out he is a jerk, everyone stands up to him, beats him, we find out that everything Eddy told us about him was a lie, and the Eds being finally accepted. If the climax was about 30 minutes, it would have worked no problem. Curse the CN movie time limits! The humour is as brilliant as ever. The fan-girls get to see even more of Edd's dark side and see Eddy break down and dissolve into tears. Ed-fans get to see him up to his dopey mischief again. Oh, and Johnny fans get to see him and Plank back as Captain Melonhead and Splinter the Wonderwood! All in all, I think this movie is worthy of a cinema release (Imagine seeing that car-chase scene on the big screen)! Or, at the very least, a DVD release. I hope that CN sees just how popular the movie is, and gives the fans what they want, a DVD release.
