n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

The whole movie seems to setup each and every character as being thoroughly unlikeable or at best, bland. The acting is terrible. The "scares" have been done multiple times (and better) by other movies. Cheap cash-in of Paranormal Activity, but way less entertaining. I watched this assuming it would be bad, and it was worse than I thought.

Moving into a new house, a family begins to experience a series of weird behaviors around them which they come to find out is the result of the previous occupant of the house coming back to seek revenge on the new family and forces them to find a way of stopping it.This here was a wholly bland and unappealing effort. Among the many problems here is the absolutely ridiculous reasoning why the family is still there in the house following these events. The fact that a vast majority of the film features the family at odds over what happens, from the death of the mover to the ways it shows them adjusting to the move and how the different methods for announcing the ghostly presence in the house that goes ignored for what they perceive to know better. That makes the film exceptionally hard to get through as the film is far more concerned with building an atmosphere of dread being in the house than anything to do with a rational thought, leaving tons of situations that play out in a rather infuriating manner of bringing the situation to their attention only to have it turn out to be shot down by their refusal to spot anything wrong with what's happening, such as the failure to recognize the tape left behind that clearly shows something is happening, the inability to spot the flies on the window which clearly should've required more attention than what's being offered here as these clearly signal something is going on inside. Another problem to overcome is the fact that the house itself is clearly not the usual setting for the rest of the films as the place is cramped, closed off and completely removed from how the house has looked in the past that it really seems like a different location entirely. This place doesn't resemble the famous house in the slightest and seems to be taken from any old house in the neighborhood so it comes across as even worse since this all makes the film look so shoddily made that there's very little chance of anything here carrying out in that kind of chilling fashion. With all these issues at hand, there's not much about the film to enjoy as it does have a couple enjoyable elements at play. These, though, are all confined to the final few minutes of the film as this one is entirely built on the action of the ghost getting into the action, from the chilling confrontation in the bedroom where it takes place completely over the security camera with no other figure on screen, the utterly chilling moments in the kitchen where the ghost finally gets to be seen in a rather terrifying sequence that's far better than the rest of the film combined and a pretty clichéd if worthwhile finale that's all the films' positives in a singularly enjoyable part. However, it's really all that the film has going for it. Rated R: Graphic Language, Violence and children-in-jeopardy

I watched this movie solely because I thought that it was "The Amityville Horror" (2005). So, you can imagine my shock and repulsion when I realized that in lieu of seeing Ryan Reynolds' glorious 6- pack, I was instead watching a little blonde boy mutter incoherently at his tart of a sister. Although I was confused and discombobulated by what was on the screen before me, I thought to myself 'hey, I should give this movie a chance'.If you are interested in watching this movie, I think it is only fair that I tell you honestly what the heck is going on. First of all, the acting is quite terrible. I mean, the characters aren't really developed enough to be characters at all; they are just little humanoid blobs running around and doing whatever they want. Secondly, this movie is not scary. I think the scariest it gets is you see a shadow and hear a 'thump', or you see a door close by means of some unseen force. This is by no means a horror movie. In fact, I'm having trouble deciding which genre this movie would fall under. Perhaps 'comedy' except it is more pitiful than a comedy. Maybe 'self-satire' is more accurate, or 'blemish on the face of the film industry'. This movie is extremely dissimilar to the other Amityville movies, the 'found-footage' style of film really doesn't work for the movie, and it is obvious just how low-budget the movie was. Finally, what the heck is with that sex scene at the beginning of the film?????????????!!!!!!! Why is it there?!?!!!!!!!?!?!?!?!??!??

I have rarely ever seen such an instantly unlikeable film and cast of characters. It's amazing what can be cranked out to try and make a buck. The dialogue is atrocious and unbelievable, especially when it's delivered by such atrocious actors. The younger actors can get a little break since they're young, but the adults should know better than to give such terrible performances. The parents in this were among the most awful I've ever seen -- not only were they hideously unlikeable as characters, they were utterly uncharismatic as actors. And who says the things they were saying when seeing the house? If I were that real estate agent, I'd have felt as awkward as she looked like she was feeling.'The family did not survive', the poster informs us. After watching ten minutes of this, you'll answer it with 'so what?'
