Trevor is 'between jobs'. He spends his days avoiding his nagging heifer of a wife by hiding out in his allotment shed and painting figurines for his wargames with his agoraphobic friend, Graham, and dreaming of his heroic alter-ego, the battle mage Casimir the Destroyer. When Mr Parsons, one of the other allotment tenants, petitions to have Trevor removed from his disgrace of a plot (he's not there to grow stuff!) an argument ensues that leaves Trevor with a corpse to hide. Unfortunately, this untimely accident coincides with the zombie apocalypse and Mr Parsons' return is just the beginnings of Trevor's problems. More pressing is whether or not he should try and save his wife and her beautiful best friend, who both he and Graham have a thing for.

This movie begins with a man named "Patrick Jackson" (Anthony Michael Hall) driving his daughter "Tracie" (Rachel G. Fox) and her friend "Rachel" (Meg Rutenberg) on a busy road when they come upon a gruesome car accident which has resulted in at least one fatality and the usual traffic jam which typically accompanies such an event. Somewhat concerned about the possibility of arriving late to their destination Patrick tells Tracie to call her boyfriend "Perry" (Daniel Ross Owens) so that nobody will worry. However, when she finally manages to get him on the phone she discovers that something has happened and that everybody seems to be in a state of panic. Because of that, Patrick decides to get off of the main road and take an alternate route back home. Unfortunately, while driving past a local graveyard he accidentally hits a person who wandered right in his path. Upon getting out of the car to investigate they soon realize that they are surrounded by zombies and have to act quickly in order to save themselves. In any case, as the movie progresses they learn that the zombies were mysteriously activated by the dark of night and for some reason are alternately deactivated by the sunlight. So in order to survive all they need to do is avoid being killed until the next morning. Of course, for the characters involved that is easier said then done. Be that as it may, although I found this to be a rather basic zombie picture for the most part, the one problem I had with it was the lack of character development due in large part to all of the non-stop action. Yet in spite of the major flaw just mentioned, I don't believe this film was necessarily bad by any means and having said that I consider it to be a reasonable addition to any zombie enthusiast's collection. Because of that I feel comfortable recommending it to those who enjoy films of this type and I have rated it accordingly. Average.

I caught this at 1 or 2am on the SciFi Channel(yes, I know they changed the spelling of their name a few years back but I refuse to acknowledge it:)...first off let me say that I am a huge zombie/horror movie fan and will watch almost anything(I have sat thru some real dogs in my day), but this movie was just plain awful...the plot, most of the acting, the effects, and the pacing were just absolutely terrible. I try to never be one of those people that says "Oh I can't believe he/she was in THAT!" because I realize acting is still a job and helps pay the bills, but I would've been hesitant to take this job:P I was frankly surprised to see 4 pretty well-known actors in this once I started to realize how bad a script/movie it was...just DO NOT waste your time with this bc you will be very, very disappointed in the quality(and that's coming from someone who enjoys a good "B- movie").

Zombies come out at night and two families must survive until morning.By now, I think we all know to expect bad things from the SyFy Channel and the movies they show. And if you are familiar with the Asylum, who makes these movies, you know that they spare every expense in order to pump out low-grade, low-budget fluff. Some of it is entertaining (I confess), but none of it has ever been good.Somehow they managed to get some real actors on board for this one. Not just one washed up actor (I am looking at you, Eric Roberts) but some decent names -- Anthony Michael Hall and Daryl Hannah. Alan Ruck may not have the name recognition, but everyone recognizes him from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" or "Spin City".The most unfortunate thing is that the director is John Gulager, who is a legitimately talented man -- "Feast" was incredible, and I absolutely loved "Piranha 3DD". Somehow not even he could save this picture... how did they all get roped into working for the Asylum?
