You won't be disappointed!
Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.
Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
This movie gave me goosebumps . Usually I don't cry while watching movies , but this movie made me to weep out like something ! The reason why SRK is known as the "King of Bollywood" is this movie !!
Chak De! India opens in Delhi during the final minutes of a fictional Hockey World Cup match between Pakistan and India, with Pakistan leading 1–0. When Indian team captain Kabir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) is fouled, he takes a penalty stroke. His shot just misses, costing India the match. Soon afterwards, media outlets circulate a photograph of Khan shaking hands with the Pakistani captain. The sporting gesture is misunderstood, and the Muslim Khan[11][12] is suspected of "throwing" the game out of sympathy towards Pakistan. Religious prejudice[11][12][13] forces him and his mother (Joyshree Arora) from their family home.Seven years later Mr. Tripathi (Anjan Srivastav), the head of India's hockey association, meets with Khan's friend—and hockey advocate—Uttamaji (Mohit Chauhan) to discuss the Indian women's hockey team. According to Tripathi, the team has no future since the only long-term role for women is to "cook and clean". Uttamaji, however, tells him that Kabir Khan (whom no one has seen for seven years) wants to coach the team. Initially sceptical, Tripathi agrees to the arrangement.
When I saw Chak de India at the time of its release in 2007, I felt so impressed & inspired by it especially Shimit Amin's direction that I made it a point to see all of his other directorial works. Nine years later, I saw Chak de India again and it still entertains & inspires. Its strengths are many - the direction, the music, the performances, the suspense, the dialogues and the many funny moments. Shahrukh Khan was refreshingly subtle as an actor and I think good credit for that goes to the director too. The rest of the cast give wonderful support especially all the hockey team girls. Many of them can thank Chak de for turning them into stars overnight. And what a tribute this movie is to the game of hockey! Many girls or boys in India would have got some motivation to join hockey or generally sports for that matter after seeing this movie. I see Chak de as a benchmark against which I compare any other sports movies made in Indian cinema. When I saw Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which felt more "bollywoodish" than a tribute to Milkha Singh, I kept telling myself, 'If only Shimit Amin had directed this...'. I don't see much flaws but there were scenes where one or two states of the county were portrayed in a manner that could have felt offensive to those who hail from there. Such scenes were unnecessary. Yet I say that the makers can be forgiven for this flaw as the movie is otherwise excellent.Verdict - watchable for all ages and one of my all-time favorite Bollywood movies.
Female Indian hockey team fight hard with male Indian hockey team during a dream ending match and result was close that you can accept.Team coach order a senior player to shift her position from CF to midfielder because it's give stability in team balance, when she was not want to do that it's mean she must be step out from team and during penalty shootout goal keeper wait for coach order to make sure which side she going to jump. Is it a game going on or reality show running on ground? But this is India no one going to see how perfect your story telling and direction is. You can put big names in your movie paint unnecessary emotional color with it then you going to receive claps and money from any kind of crap.
