Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

I have gone back and forth with my feelings of Tyler Perry's movies. I enjoy them for their material and especially for their religious content. Most of his movies/plays do have a rich background that everything will work out and that God has a plan and as a Christian myself I love that this is included. I believe this movie was good. I enjoyed the characters and the situations they each had but I don't believe any of them were ever resolved. It left the viewer confused. Jill and Troy's problems were never discussed, Angela and Marcus never truly solved their trust issues and Terry and Dianne seemed to just let everything go without talking about it. Each of these situations in themselves could have been their own movie. There was so much that wasn't answered, so much that wasn't talked about. The worst was Patricia and Gavin. Both the first and second movie showed them having issues however, not only were they not resolved but they were barely shown in the first place. They were arguing and clearly in a difficult situation but it's still unknown what was wrong even after the end of the second movie. If Tyler Perry would have gone deeper into the issues of the relationships (or at least solved them in an appropriate way) I probably would have given this movie a 10. On a positive note, Tasha Smith is hilarious! She plays her character so well!

As a fan of Tyler Perry, I must say that his first cinematic take on marital relationships was great and in my opinion, incredibly heartwarming. However, for some insane reason, the man who made the sharp tongued, pistol waving Madea famous decided to surprise us with the atrocious sequel " Why Did I Get Married Too"? For starters, there's too much melodrama for this to be taken seriously. Not to mention the fact that the screwed up, hair brained characters are impossible to watch. First, we have Patty (Janet Jackson) going from being a seemingly loving, happy wife to being a vindictive, psychotic bitch before half of the film is over. Then you have Sheila's mean, prick of an ex husband showing up out of the blue trying to win her back only for her to turn around and take pity on him when she finds out he's terminally ill. Next we have all of the characters suddenly falling into each other's arms at the hospital after crazy Patty screams "FIX IT, FIX IT " !!!!!!!! C'mon ! The melodramatic, Jerry Springer like episodes was absolutely redundant. The controlling, psycho Angela shows up at her husband's job accusing him of having an affair ! Seriously ? Last but not least, Patty, who we realize isn't an expert on relationships as we thought humiliates her soon to be ex husband at work right before he gets killed ! I strongly believe that Perry could've done much better than this. Since WDIGM features the same characters, WDIGM 2 gives viewers the impression that they are wrong for each other where as the first one shows how the characters grew fonder of each other despite hidden secrets and flaws. Aside from the gorgeous view of the Carribbean, I definitely don't suggest watching this film. If you wanna watch a movie on how to ruin your marriage, this movie is for you. If not, see the first one instead.

This film is one of the worst I've seen. The four female characters are hideous - spoiled, whining, loud mouthed, overbearing, jealous, precious. In real life I can't imagine people like these four being tolerated. The plot is poor, the execution slow and tortured. It takes an age for the movie to gain any impetus. The point of the film, I imagine, is to examine the lives of couples who are married. It would certainly put off anybody contemplating union. The male characters act like puppets, afraid to hurt the feelings of their counterparts. They appear to be unable to exert their own will.Avoid the film if you come across it. A waste of nearly two hours with an ending which is totally incredible.

I Hated this movie!!! Total waste of money and I am talking about $5 pay per view money! It seriously made absolutely no sense at all especially the end. I searched it on Wikipedia just in case I misunderstood something! This movie left me angry and confused. Do you know how many movies ever left me angry and confused??? Just this one!!! Typical Tyler Perry melodrama but I must applaud him on not completely following his standard formula of: drug addict + woman who was raped by her mother's boyfriend/husband + reeeaaalllly evil guy + public service announcement poorly disguised as a "conversation" = Tyler Perry Movie. Jokes were lame. Acting was poor and the story at times did not add up or make any kind of sense. What was the deal with Patricia??? It is never explained why she and Gavin are divorcing which he looked as surprised as we are, nor why she is so bent in not letting him have any of her book money. Then she causes his death (heeeyyy didn't she kill their child too in an "accident") and happily end up with the Rock after pretty much making his life and last moments miserable then cashing in on his death (which may go along with Gavin's claim of how he was the test subject in her books and therefore entitled to half). Perry I believe tries to vilify Gavin towards the end in what appears to be an attempt to justify bumping him off but it does not work because Patricia is some sort of raving lunatic that would not explain anything. I though, "ok, maybe she's some sort of a sociopath" but there is nothing that shows that that is the case unless is he trying to pull an "M. Night Shyamalan" move by adding a twist. I am starting to think that there will be a third one and that is when we will find out that she is a psychotic killer... who's on drugs... and was raped by her mother's boyfriend/husband... and we find this out while she is conversing in a way that sounds like a Public Service Announcement.
