Memorable, crazy movie
Good concept, poorly executed.
The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
This traditional horror film works reasonably well. But it is far from perfect. This is a movie with many effective effects we're used to seeing in horror movies, and they work fine in this simple story, which appears like a low budget movie. What draws down the movie is several scenes that are not entirely connected. The main actor here is being persecuted and harassed, but tackles this in a strange way, and a little convincing. The film begins as a thriller, but develops more towards a superstitious horror movie. This is also somewhat confusing. But it has some really great surprises, so I give it absolutely thumbs up
This was an interesting movie and well worth a glass of wine and a box of chocolates next to a warm fire.Saying that it was one of those movies that tried to be clever but the twist did not quite work. You are left thinking to yourself, 'I see what the producer is trying to do but it flops a little. Too many gaps.' It would have been better if there was a clearer explanation as to the connection with the past and the present and how the two interrelated. However this is not rubbish by any means and its worth a bag of popcorn and an evening in.
I had some hope for this movie, as I generally like this type of film, but was hugely disappointed. First of all, don't know if it's just sub par film they used, or it was an attempt at a movie effect, but the entire movie was dark, and had very little red, so everyone and everything was cast in a dark blueish, greenish tint. A full 50 percent of the time I had no clue what was even going on. I finally read the Wikipedia review to even understand the ending due to being in the dark. They need better film or get rid of the dark effect to make the movie tolerable. With decent color film, I would raise my rating to a 5 or 6 anyway, but not being able to see parts that were important ruined it for me.

Somehow I missed that detail and it doesn't even make sense since everyone speaks English and it sure looks like America (even tho according to IMDb this was filmed in the UK and PRAnyway, that was just an aside. From the very first scene I was pretty riveted. It's an odd story that will captivate you.The scenes with the creepy husband put a bit of a drag on the movie, but I stuck with it.There are other sort of anomalies like why doesn't she have an answering machine instead of having to rely on always answering the phone. Why is the apartment always so dark? Doesn't she have electric? And some of the scene are contrived for suspense. Also, maybe I'm just jaded, but I knew VERY early on where 90% of this movie was going. Especially with regard to the brick wall where the phone comes out.Still, it's a fairly well done film. Doesn't keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time, but still definitely worth a look.
