Earthfall
As a rogue planet roars through our solar system, it acts as an intergalactic magnet that pulls Earth in its wake. Meteors destroy major cities. Fire and ice storms engulf the land. Casualties are in the millions. And as the situation grows even worse, Steve Lannon is determined to reunite with his wife and teenage daughter. But when they stumble into a secret government installation, they'll uncover a nuclear mission that will either blast our planet back into orbit or guarantee front row seats to the end of the world.

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Well I had expected something much, much worse than what "Earthfall" actually turned out to be.Sure, this was a very generic and predictable disaster movie, but then again so are 90% of the movies in this particular genre. Yet we still watch them for some odd reason. For me it is on the offbeat chance that the movie actually is outstandingly entertaining; which most of them aren't, sadly enough. The story here is about the Earth being pulled out of its orbit and sent hurling into space. Right, very simple, very generic, isn't it? There were heaps of flaws in the movie, of course. And while I am not a man of science or anything, but if the Earth is sent out of its orbit wouldn't that heavily influence the atmosphere gravity and the polar points?I loved how the freezing storm claimed a man's life in less than mere seconds by freezing him solid, yet the female protagonist escaped that fate by merely pulling a blanket up to her chest! Yeah, that was plausible. The special effects and CGI in the movie were actually adequate for a movie of this caliber, so thumbs up there.
Not to sure this should be called a sci-fi film as such, maybe more a small budget disaster film than anything.Certainly nothing great to say about this TV film except acting was acceptable. But feels more like a generic cheaply made Hallmark Channel drama film to fill 90 minutes on a Sunday afternoon than anything. The given situation that the planet turning on its axis so much and spinning out of orbit and yet parts of the planet pretty much unaffected (barring meteors and weather storms) is highly unrealistic and lacks any scientific basis to the given situation to make enjoying this film really possible. So it makes difficult to accept that there is any believable aspect to this story in any form. Which then begs the question as to the type of audience the film sees its target audience demographics?.I'm guessing this could be seen more as showcase film for actors and budding CGI artists seeing as there was some reasonable efforts on the CGI front.
I managed to sit through around 20 minutes of this film before the appalling script, rather poor acting and unimpressive special effects proved too much for me. Some of the early dialogue was abysmal and totally unconvincing which made the characters saying it also unconvincing. I couldn't find one central character with whom I could invest or relate too - a fatal flaw in any movie of this type.I watch a lot of films covering many genres and like sci-fi especially but after being spoilt by TV series like Falling Skies and Defiance - to mention two examples - the mediocrity of this offering was highlighted even more.I almost never give up on a film but in this case I really didn't care what happened as I have better things to do with my life.I'm sure others may enjoy it - but not me.
sorry but it was just terrible, the acting was some of the worst I've seen in a long time, i read the first review giving it a 10/10 which was quite obviously written by someone who worked on the movie, easily identified by the 9 out of 90 people found that review helpful, that other 81 people knew what was going down i noticed it was one of the most downloaded movies online so read up on it, despite the reviews said id see for myself but wow, i can only blame myself but wish i could get that time of my life back to waste on a real actual movie instead, it pretends to be something new yet its not it pretends it has a point to it but it doesn't its just a long drawn out waste of film, don't bother.
