A waste of 90 minutes of my life

I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

I only give this a 3 strictly because there were some truly laugh out loud moments in the film, but the ending is just horrible. If you were like me thinking you were about to see a kick-ass action flick the beginning of the movie does the trick. Sitting in your sit like thinking "yeah this is getting good" midway through the film it gets away from all of that and just when you think that there's gonna be like some awesome boss battle at the end of the movie or something the only thing he has to battle is himself and the fight for love. ugh so corny. Great kid's film play it for a little girl or something though because a boy would not like this film nor do I think you would want a little boy to watch this. The female lead is a very beautiful woman. The acting is OK. I'm just angry because it was in the action-adventure section in netflix and i just got suckered into watch a lame ass romantic-comedy-ish film. If your looking for a cheesy action adventure movie do not watch this film repeat DO NOT WATCH THIS FILM IS YOUR LOOKING FOR A SUPERHERO MOVIE. The ending oh my god.. don't get me started. I created this profile just to review this movie and possible save you an hour and a half of wasted time.

I never write reviews but I was so shocked by the film's vote that I felt compelled to. Griff is an amazing film. One that mixes magic realism without the complacency of most recent films. And yes, one that shows true love, two pieces of humanity that can only combine with each other. In that regard it is very reminiscent of Punch Drunk Love. Here too, the female character is compelling, and the actor you loved in True Blood is playing a similar role as in the series (slightly low on the IQ scale), but with many more nuances and a lot of charm. This is definitely one of the most interesting variation in the wave of super- hero/vigilante films we saw recently.Watch it, you won't regret it.

I had my reservations about this movie, being more than a little wary about any super-hero movie made this year. All my predictions about this movie came true. The plot seemed silly, the script made me cringe, and the acting could have been better. Or so I thought. It turns out that one of the lead characters, the brother, expressed the same sentiments throughout the movie, and that's when I realized I had misunderstood the movie. It was deliberate.The movie "Super" was similar in that respect, and if not for my policy of watching a movie till the end no matter what, I would have walked out in the middle both times. Super was a non-mainstream movie, that broke all the rules of action movies, and at times seemed to more a poor parody of the genre. The ending redeemed it though; I loved it.Here too, the ending redefined what this movie set out to be. Not a super-hero movie, not action, definitely not comedy, and not quite romance. But for all those people complaining that Hollywood has nothing new to offer, I strongly urge you to check this one out

Excellent idea but you only got halfway there. The setup with cats living in 9 dimensions at once and the two of them being able to see something in the world and each other that no one else can - I was dying, DYING for this to turn into 'Frailty'. I was so sure you were gonna get there. I thought the performances were aloof on purpose - so that they seemed distracted like cats. When the movie was over at 67 minutes but there was 20 left - and he saw the goons out his window - I thought there was still hope, but the payoff never came! The reveal at the end should have been Griff really being invisible on the security tapes - and we find that while being a peon in this dimension, he is a revered hero in another. Could've been a great story about redemption, belief in yourself, love conquering all and doing the right thing no matter how much somebody else tells you you're wrong. Would've been far more interesting if there had been an alternate universe subplot with a compelling antagonist - perhaps putting Melody in some sort of real danger? You 'saved the cat' at the very beginning so I thought you knew the rules but you were missing an antagonist integral to the story's action, any real call to action or any sort of return with the elixir. You were so close! I'm not picking on you, its almost a great movie, but it's like you built a car with the front end of a Ferrari and the back end of a Dodge. Best thing anyone has ever done in casting was Maeve Dermody. Why is she not an A-lister in America? Good lord. Somebody over here is really dropping the ball not casting her daily!
