Riot
Copper Jack Stone purposefully orchestrates a bank robbery in order to be thrown into prison with the notorious Russian kingpin Balam. Balam is more than just a mob criminal; he's a very cunning and dangerous lord who controls the police force from behind bars. Balam lives in prison as a cover for his real power, which is King of the city. His cell is a lavish private room built specifically for him, inaccessible to most in the depths of the prison structure. Even the warden fears venturing into his area of the prison. However, even surrounded by his loyal henchmen and guards in his sectioned off fortress, Balam doesn't know Jack is coming for him to avenge his family, who Balam murdered in cold blood. Balam is tough... but Jack is tougher.

best movie i've ever seen.
There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
I like movies with action in prison, they have something special, when they are well done. And this movie it is one of those. I had a very pleasant surprise, watching it, I did not expect, I thought it is probably another dozen failure. But no, it is very well done, from all points of view, directing, image, music, great fights(you don't want to meet Alena-Danielle Chuchran), excellent stunts, actors' play. Dolph Lundgren's coolest role from all the movies I've seen. It's the story of a tough guy, Jack Stone (Matthew Reese - a very nice breakthrough for me) who goes to jail to... but no, I will not tell you the story, as other people do, just watch it and you'll not regret it, it's really worth it!

'RIOT': Three Stars (Out of Five)Action flick starring Matthew Reese, Dolph Lundgren, Danielle Chuchran and former UFC champion Chuck Liddell. It was directed by John Lyde; and written by Lyde and first time feature film writer Spanky Dustin Ward. The film tells the story of a police officer, that purposefully gets himself arrested; in order to take down the imprisoned Russian kingpin that murdered his family. The movie's clichéd, but it has it's moments.Jack Stone (Reese) is a cop, who's obsessed with revenge against a Russian kingpin, named Balam (Liddell); who had his family killed. Balam runs his business from behind bars; in a heavily guarded prison cell. So stone stages a bank robbery, just to have himself arrested. Once he's locked-up, he finds aid from two undercover cops inside (Lundgren and Chuchran). The movie offers nothing new in the form of originality, or clever filmmaking. The stars are entertaining to watch though, and the fight scenes are decent enough. It's not a film you'll probably remember for very long, after you finish watching it, but it is a fun time while you're viewing it. It's at least as entertaining as I was expecting it to be.Watch our movie review show 'MOVIE TALK' at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHm0V1TOCkg
The last few Dolph Lundgren flicks have been rough going (specifically the Serafini ones like BLOOD OF REDEMPTION), so I entered RIOT with expectations lower than usual. So it was nice to see it actually putting forth some effort. It is essentially a vanity project (lead Matthew Reese's name appears 3 times in the first 30 seconds) and you have to suffer through UFC fighter Chuck Liddell - sporting a huge HGH belly - doing one of the worst Russian accents in the history of cinema (not an easy feat!), but the filmmakers came up with a twisty plot, some cool guard costumes and did some interesting fight choreography (which was obviously influenced by JOHN WICK and THE RAID films). Not a Dolph- classic by any means, but a decent 85 minutes.
