There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

As one other person reviewed this so accurately, it definitely is a FAIL.First of all...the main character you could say is Mai...Mai is a decent character in the game...but if anyone has seen her in anime cartoons such as fatal fury and is a fan of her character you will be finding this rendition of her ridiculous.Mai basically seems to be the strongest character in the movie basically. She's Terry Bogard's side kick...what of Terry Bogard? HORRIBLE he's way older than the other characters, has short hair, when you finally see him in action he's slow, his costume is RIDICULOUSLY STUPID I would have been happy to at least see him use one of his moves from the game AT LEAST....Kyo Kusanagi is a joke....Iori...same here...fight scenes with him were not bad but..the story just totally RUINS THE MOVIE...Rugal...I like the actor who played him, He is favored by many people but...he just doesn't fit in the movie...I got bored and found the movie on netflix while was browsing...I can't believe I sat through the entire movie...if you're thinking of renting or buying this movie...no matter how big of a fan you are DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.Instead check out the latest anime they have. Theirs short small episodes that are really cool to watch wonderfully done.all in all..Story 0/10 character resemblance 1/10 action 2/10 special effects 1/10 suspense 0/10 ending 0/10 Movie lacks basic plot, character resemblance, special effects are poorly done, no suspenseful moments and when you finally reach the end of the movie you are left with your jaw dropping thinking OH MY GOD.....ARE YOU SERIOUS?........

I'm looking at some of the reviews and it just cracks me up. To those that haven't played the game and followed it's storyline, the movie was just a below average action movie without hardly a unique story. It was simple to tell what was going to happen in the end. The "bad guy" was a terrible actor who made the movie felt like it was an updated version of Power Rangers. The effects were pretty lame as well... I know it was a low budget but most of the action scenes looked fake. The Pros? This movie had a few hot chicks. Maggie Q is hot and there were some turn on scenes. The picture was actually pretty good too and I think most of the money went to that. The Cons? Pretty much the whole movie.. With Maggie Q you could have gotten a little more attention if she did a "dirty scene" There was the other 2 fighter girls which would have probably attracted some attention. The action was below average. The cast was just plain lame. The "bad guy" was just a laugh and the story was just simple with hardly any concept put in it. So 3/10

Choreography and fighting: HORIBBLE. All the punches hit air, and the fight scenes look like something scripted by 8 year olds. There is a scene of Rugal skating (randomly; whoever plays him looks very unbalanced on roller blades), and sort of bonking Vice and Mature with a hockey stick... which is clearly made of foam rubber. It's UNBEARABLE. Keeping to the videogames: Mai Shiranui is dating Iori Yagami. Rugal Bernstein on Rollerblades, as stated above. This has almost nothing to do with the KOF series. Acting: DISGUSTING. I'm not a very good actor, but I'm better than THAT. Special Effects: Sort of passable. But then again, my standards are pretty low. Let's see... if a bunch of high school kids photo-shopping is a 3, art school students photo-shopping is a 5, and Pixar is a 9... this is a 5.5. Storyline: What monstrosity have they pulled??? It makes little sense, is not engaging, the story wanders all over the place, the plot moves slowly, and they don't even give anything to the fanboys since they butchered the video game storyline.

If you have seen Street Fighter (with Jean Claude van Damme) and you've thought it was the worst movie ever, then this will be the one to replace its place. The story is nothing near the game, most characters are not from the same nationality as in the game. The clothes (their trademarks) are different from the game and where are the special moves?? Each one of the characters had their trademark moves and specialities, most of them had like superpowers (fireballs, lighting etc.). As how the technology is now, it is easy to make those like in the game, so where is it? It's a very disappointing movie, I watched this one after watching Tekken, and Tekken is much better.
