A brilliant film that helped define a genre
Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.
It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
This movie was absolutely terrible. From mad-dog disease to a bristish actor pretending to be american to the 'Infected' being recorded and not supposedly able to speak English but speaking and acting as they were when translated - so many flaws in this movie it was not enjoyable to say the least. Characters had no background, storyline was rocky at best and the movie had no depth or feeling to keepyou following along and intrigued - NOTHING!
Just before the first 3 minutes of the movie passed, I told myself: Are these actors addicted to play roles against the living dead? Already GOT's Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) and Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) are there at time 2 min 44 sec in a movie, that's about seemingly a very similar story of Contagion (2011) -- and this is a good base to start commenting on Patient Zero. Simply put, it has a little bits of 3 or 4 illness-spreading catastrophe movies. If one takes this movie as an action movie and divides it into 10 parts, then 9 parts of those are made of conversations, talking, discussions, debating, and more conversations. The remaining 10% action part comes with quickly interchanging scenes, from one extreme to another, leaving no taste for anything. There is something missed that should've been there to give the movie a taste, I don't know what it is exactly (because it is missed.. well..)I'll forget about the obvious English accent in a movie that's supposed to tell the story of American team of specialists, a glitch that professional actors should've payed attention to. And about the funny parts of the movie, when the story tries to picture a childish act, with childish events, to reach to childish conclusions. Dormer has a scene here that's like what Holy Reddick said once, "Skittish Toombs, very skittish". Holy Reddick also said "You made 3 mistakes; first, you took the job......" which applies for me for watching this movie... I've rated it 3/10, only for the memory of GOT.
This looks like a made for tv movie that has been released because of Matt Smiths rise to fame since Doctor Who. The idea of intelligent "Zombies" is not new but well thought through and the general story line is ok, unfortunately they did not spend enough money on making this movie. Sorry Matt, I'm a big fan of yours but your American accent is terrible, they should have cast you as an English man. overall this movie is only really worth watching if you can overlook the low budget and Matt Smiths bad accent.
I refuse to write anything . Waste of time , funniest part of the movie was that they ended on a potential seguel !
