For all the hype it got I was expecting a lot more!
It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
This is a film which has brought me to the reflexion. Yes, also now, while I write this comment, I am still thinking about he film... A tragic film, a tragic history, behind it is. Seldom I have seen myself a film, emotionally so ready makes because it is simply a relation(connection) to my own life. He makes me sadly and happily - both at the same time. Do you know this, you are glad so much that yourselves to howl is? Knows you the feeling(emotion), it is so sad that to you to howl is?Now mixes these both feelings(emotions) and you suddenly start(begin), you To see life in a different light. Thanks to the studio, which this Film produced and does not let assume up to the last moment(instant), how it ends. Thanks... simply thanks...
I caught this on TV, and what got my attention was that it involved online gaming, since I'm a gamer, I stayed and watched it thinking it was a fantasy movie. At first I thought it was weird (well, it was different, but in a good way). This movie is beautiful, it has great soundtrack and the actor playing Ben is amazing. There have been many movies about Asperger's syndrome lately, but this gave us a whole new perspective of a boy living in Belgium, hiding behind an online game character. I would love to see it again, but it hasn't been on TV again and I can't find it in Mexico. This is one of my favorite movies lately, you have to watch it there are no words to really describe the feeling of watching it.
I thought that Ben X was an excellent film to watch. Ben is very different. He has Aspergers Syndrome, a form of autism, which makes him very different from other people. He plays his favourite online computer game Archlord all of the time, trying hard to train himself for the real world that he lives in. The hard world of a school is for him a daily kind of hell. As the horror of being a daily subject to bullying starts to get worse, Ben works out a plan. Then a girl called Scarlite comes into his life, the girl that he has met in his on-line game. I found this film to be an excellent movie, that includes a lot a senses of bullying, and violence towards Ben from the other children in his class. Recommended..
****************SPOILERS - READ ONLY AFTER VIEWING...OR, ON MY RECOMMENDATION, DECIDING NOT TO**************** This film is definitely an interesting one. Saying that I enjoyed it for the most part may perplex you based on my rating of 6/10.First I will say that a good ending can save an otherwise mediocre film, but a bad ending usually hurts or even ruins a decent one. Sure, this film has a "good" ending in that nobody dies. I guess my gripe with this film (and by guess i mean i know what i think but want to seem indifferent to appeal to the most people...will the real joe lieberman please stand up) is that this film doesn't know what it wants to be, other than perhaps an eye-opener on Asperger's. It is part depression leads to fantasy worlds a la "the fall," part consequences of being bullied in high school, and part m. night shayamalan film.Anyway, as is often the case the movie was decent but it had one fatal flaw, in this case the ending. In that respect, it was kinda like my last relationship...it ended with sex, but it would have been preferable if it had been CONSENSUAL. I really regret throwing away that armoire...****************SPOILERS - READ ONLY AFTER VIEWING...OR, ON MY RECOMMENDATION, DECIDING NOT TO****************
