The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film

They wont' see this movie and if they do they are not smart enough to realize the evil of Iran's Ayatollah version Islam and their evil in supporting it. Or maybe they will see this film as a training manual. The makers of the movie wanted to raise awareness of the horrors of living in the Islamo-Fascist Regime of Iran. The movie was made in 2008 - 27 years after the Khomeini took over Iran. Now it is another 10 years and the stonings, murder, torture and rape of innocents continue. Nothing has changed in Iran except women are not having many children and Iran has more people with sexually transmitted diseases than any country outside of the continent of Africa. People do not have children when they have no hope. This movie is difficult to watch. Very difficult. The suffering you will see is here is immense. What Soraya goes through has happened throughout Iran for 39 straight years without interruption or without world condemnation. People who apologize for Iran, help Iran, conspire with Iran or help Iran are evil. This movie is watching hell on earth for 2 hours.

One of the best film that you will never forget till you die.Just two lines:1) You have to be strong enough to watch the movie, 100% you will end up crying. 2) The reality will kill you at the end. (As it is mentioned it still continues in few places around the world) Usually reality will affect your emotion(s) and definitely you will be disturbed. But this movie/reality will create a great impact and you will feel that you are having a good life compare to Soraya M. Being a girl, I was extremely sad for Soraya M and also at the same time I feel more blessed.Actress Mozhan Marnò portrayed Soraya M at her best. The conversation that happen's in Zahra's house were stunning and I was literally shocked. I salute the director who brought this issue to the world's attention. I hope you will also agree with my point.I won't say enjoy the movie, rather I would say feel the reality. Thanks, Meena.

Powerful, moving, anger-inducing indictment on mob rule, injustice, modern-day barbarism and religious zealotry and manipulation. The ending might be obvious from the title, but the back story is incredibly powerful. The event itself is brutally graphic, and demonstrates the effect of the irrational behaviour that came before it.Based on a true story, the plot is solid, as is the direction. The performances by the leads - Shohreh Aghdashloo and Mozhan Marno - are excellent.A must-see, but not for the faint-hearted.

"The Stoning of Soraya", by far is too embarrassing and shameful. I felt deeply sorry for those so called actors and actresses who happened most of them to be Iranian. you just sold your people, your culture and your country for a fist of dollars coming from oil hungry companies who are trying to show a wild image of one of the oldest civilization in earth in order to rob its resources as they did and do in Pakistan, Afghanistan, south America and Arab countries. I would like to congratulate them for doing a job that no Arab, Afghan or Pakistanis dare to do. the countries who are way far strict and fanatic in Islamic rules and this thing happen more often there. but why should western media care as long as the resources are exploited and governments are their puppets? as a person born to an Iranian family, the only thing I share with this movie is the language. I was impressed how someone who was not born in Iran and haven't been even once there, made me so familiar with my country... bravo!
