I'd like to begin my review by thanking John Cusack for taking the time to write such a convincing review anonymously to try to trick people into watching this "comedy" film. I picked this movie as a gag gift for my brother from the dollar bin, since it was a blatant rip off of the movie "Lord of War" which is truly a quality, underrated film, and I figured it may be good for a laugh. After watching, I have such regret at the loss of a dollar and over an hour of precious time. I truly have no idea what other positive reviewers saw that I did not grasp, the acting and script were so painful, the plot so convoluted, the violence so pointless, and none of the jokes funny. Please do not make my mistake and watch this film, unless you just want to see Hilary Duff dressed in very sexy clothing or if you have the hots for John Cusack. If the idea of a film exposing American weapons used in foreign wars and the ethical dilemmas faced by those involved with this business PLEASE I beg you watch "Lord of War" instead! It has Ethan Hawke and Jared Leto! Anyway, I just wrote because the next time I pick a movie with the intent to laugh at it's ridiculousness, I only hope some kind soul might have posted a review to warn me if it's a total bomb like this film was. Thank you for reading.

War, Inc. is a political satire film about the Military-Industrial Complex. It stars John Cusack with an cast ensemble that includes Hilary Duff,Marisa Tomei,Joan Cusack,Dan Aykroyd and Ben Kingsley. The screenplay was co-written by Mark Leyner, Jeremy Pikser, and producer/star John Cusack. It was directed by Joshua Seftel. A private American corporation run by a former U.S. vice president is occupying the war-torn nation of Turaqistan, but a powerful Middle Eastern oil minister is preventing them from taking total advantage of the situation. In order to gain a monopoly on the lucrative opportunities that Turaqistan has to offer, the CEO of the corporation hires an evenhanded hit-man named Hauser to take the oil minister out of the picture. Now, in order to carry out the contract without a hitch, Hauser will pose as the corporation's trade-show producer. The stakes are high and the potential for disaster is evident, though if Hauser can successfully organize the wedding of Central Asian pop-star Yonica Babyyeah, he's got a good chance of pulling it off. But sexy and resourceful left-wing reporter Natalie Hegalhuzen is determined to uncover the truth about what's happening in Turaqistan, and the moment she does, this carefully constructed scheme will crumble like a house of cards. This John Cusack-driven exercise in scorched-earth political comedy is neither as dark nor as timely as intended, and certainly not as funny as it often misses its target. This absurd political farce has its moments but requires a deft touch for satire due to that fact that is has an the uneven screenplay. It squanders some top-tier talent involved in it.

Not Grosse Point Blank by a long shot, but still an alright film; think critics are being a bit overly critical here but maybe that's just me, the film sort of blows but Cusack's performance in this film is great –it like Martin Blank 10 years on (see Grosse Point Blank). I'd say that Cusack needs to find a new agent, and fast, as his talent seems to be being wasted on rubbish as of late. Even in films that suck he himself always puts on a good performance. There is some great dialogue from Cusack akin to the aforementioned Grosse Point Blank; but sadly not even close to the same calibre. This film was recommended to me by a friend saying it was' the spiritual sequel to Grosse Point Blank' and in that I can see the comparison.Like most sequel it blows when compared to the 'original'. This film just seems to be trying to relive the best bits of Grosse Point Blank (GPB) but fails. I think due to the very slapstick, and immature style of the satire in the film. In GPB there was no political commentary behind it; it was just a beautifully executed 'dark romantic comedy'.The fact that this film touched on a very real issues with obvious links to recent international events should have made this a dark, edgy film, and hilarious but as I said above, due to the immature style that it seem to approach it with just ruins that poetical, and just lowers the tone of the film; this is only highlighted more by the sometimes though provoking dialogue between Cusack's and Tomie's characters; making it feel like you're watching two different films at the same time and nether gel together right. If you've never seen GPB then watch War Inc. first and follow up with GPB as War Inc. will only enhance the comic genius behind GPB.

This is one of the worst films I have ever seen. Despite a very impressive cast, this film fails to deliver. With a plot so predictable and acting well below average, I wonder how this was approved for a release by the production company. There has been an attempt to make the audience laugh. But unfortunately laughter cannot be forced. Only pain can be forced and watching this was a painful experience. I felt many of the actors were not at all interested in acting in this film. But I do not think better acting would have improved the film to a large extent because it was that bad.I do not like to give poor ratings. But I think doing so with this one would be sheer injustice to the good ones out there.I figured out the entire story of the film within minutes of its beginning and was raring to stop watching it.Verdict : Don't even think about watching it!
