Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

The Farelly brothers are pidgeon-holed for making gross-out comedies based on the strength of a few scenes of some of their most popular movies, such as "Dumb and Dumber" and "There's Something about Mary." When their 2003 movie "Stuck on You," arrived at cinemas people wrongly assumed that it would contain more of those types of shenanigans.Instead, the humor in "Stuck on You" is much more subtle and sweet-natured. The plot concerns the plight of conjoined twins Bob and Walt Tenor, who are portrayed by Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear, respectively. They earn their living by running a quickie burger place (which is even named "Quickee Burger") and by working so well together and being so efficient that they guarantee service in three minutes or less. The whole movie changes when Walt decides he wants to move to California and pursue his dream of becoming an actor. The Farellys wisely focus on the intimate problems the men face when both get girlfriends and the logistic problems created when Walt gets cast in a TV show opposite Cher. In fact, one reviewer called the movie a very odd romance.By the time the movie was made the Farellys had scored with about six other features and fans will catch glimpses of some of their stable characters in their other films such as the guy who played the taxi driver in "Shallow Hal" and another guy who played one of the exceptional people in "There's Something about Mary." The musical score of any Farelly movie is a treat, especially for back-end Baby Boomers who will recognize popular songs they heard on the radio during the endless summer days of their youth. This time it is "Alone Again, Naturally" from Gilbert O'Sullivan. One of the biggest delights of the movie is an unexpected and delightful cameo from Meryl Streep, which happens near the end. For those yet to see "Stuck on You," the less said about it, the better. See it for yourself! This, along with "Shallow Hal" are the Farelly's best feel-good comedies.

Everything about this movie is just so wrong, its not even really all that funny, mostly uncomfortable, yet somehow it just wasn't horrible. I'm actually not sure why this worked for me but it did -on a very basic level.Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear play conjoined twins Walt and Bob whose brotherly bond is tested when Bob decides to leave their idyllic hometown life and pursue an acting career in Los Angeles. Yeah, this is the Farrelly Brothers so somehow this plot works and the cameos from Cher and Meryl Streep (yes really) as themselves, are very entertaining. The supporting cast is excellent too including Eva Mendes and there are also some surprisingly heartwarming moments but wow, imagine trying to sell this movie to studios initially. 11.13

Stuck on You finds those fun-loving Farrelly brothers in a feel-good mood, delivering a tame, kind-hearted comedy that even your grandma could enjoy. It is a story of conjoined twins, portrayed by Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear, whose conflicting aspirations provide both conflict and humorous situations, in particular when one of them wishes to move to Hollywood, California to pursue a career as an actor.Eva Mendes,Wen Yann Shih and Pat Crawford Brown co-star in this film.Bob and Walt are conjoined twins who are the owners and short-order cooks at a Martha's Vinyard burger joint. When amateur actor Walt decides he wants to make it in Hollywood,Bob has no choice but to go along. Separation surgery is risky, so most of Stuck on You milks mild laughs from the brothers' intimate connection, especially when Bob finds love with a pen-pal who's initially unaware of Bob's brotherly predicament. The twosome finds Tinseltown to be less accommodating than life back east, however, as Walt and Bob come up against flea-ridden apartments, surly bar patrons, and a paucity of roles for actors with an extraneous person attached to them. Things begin to look up when they run into Cher on a studio back lot. Eager to end her commitment to star in a cheesy detective show, she casts Walt as her co-star, hoping the program will fail. When her plan backfires, however, the brothers find themselves on the cusp of fame and fortune and consider undergoing the risky surgery that could separate them forever.Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear make a terrific team in this delightfully demented comedy.Unfortunately, this is one that involves an ordinary story that either unforgettable nor groundbreaking. It is a sweet, slapstick and crude humor but it only manages to entertain and make the viewer laugh at a minimum as compared to the other films made by Farrelly brothers.

Funny and touching account of Siamese twins (Kinnear and Damon) who enjoy a relatively normal life inside their unique situation, Kinnear a budding actor, encouraged and supported by his brother Damon, nervous about meeting his online love (Shih), uncertain how to reveal the 'closeness' between himself and his brother. Eventually Kinnear lands a role in a sitcom (creative framing and editing taking care of Damon) and things seem to be on the up, then the prospect of surgical separation offers a chance to become independent.Surprising cast includes Cher as a diva who helps Kinnear land his first role as a means to infuriate the studio for disrespecting her, while Seymour Cassel plays Kinnear's wheelchair-bound manager, Griffin Dunne pops up in a cameo as a TV director and roll out the red carpet for Meryl Streep who plays herself with a few pearls of wisdom on how to succeed despite yourself.Damon does a cracker parody of Mike Tyson in one hilarious scene, showcasing some comedic skills he doesn't often display, while there's plenty of laughs in general as you'd expect from the premise. Beneath the comedy, there also a sensitive story, and not as cheesy as these films sometimes convey. I agree with another reviewer who commented that the film is not your typical comic-pathos, but has been mis-promoted as a run-of-the-mill blithering slapstick farce - both Kinnear and Damon's characters are genuinely drawn and their dialogue is witty, erudite and demonstrative of two quietly assertive personalities who've learned to be self-deprecating about their disability, but not subdued by prejudice. Fortunately, you can take or leave the message, the comedy stands alone.
